Ratatouille is the latest Pixar movie coming out this year. In theaters June 29th.

It's about a rat that lives in Paris and dreams of becoming a master chef against all odds. He meets a young su-chef who also dreams of becoming a master chef but has almost no talent. They decide that together, they're going to be the best chef in Paris.

This might actually be the most original idea for an animated movie I've seen in a long time. The one thing I especially love is the rat doesn't actually speak to the human, which would have totally killed the movie for me.

this looks cool.

Yeah I liked the fact the rat doesn't talk. I'll check it out when its out on dvd

Can't wait.

Pixar, to this point, has done NO wrong IMO. Didn't they even convince Disney not to abandon traditional 2d cel animation, which they were considering?

The rat not talking to the kid is the difference between a Disney movie and a Pixar movie.

Disney would have had the kid and the rat best friends and chatting up a storm within two minutes of meeting. Pixar recognizes that a rat that talks to humans has no business in their movie.

No all disney films are like that. Look at brother bear or Pocahontas but yes most.

How ever that's not bad thing. Pinocchio had a talking cricket and that's better then all the Pixar ones (well maybe not toy story) plus If I had to pick between a disney and pixar film or just a disney one chances are i'll go with just disney

Animated you have :
  • peter pan
  • robin hood
  • lion king
  • Pinocchio
  • Pocahontas
  • brother bear
  • tarzan
  • and much much more

live action:
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Mighty ducks
  • The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
  • and more

I think over all disney has done much better films than the Pixar ones

I'll be the one to say it.

Disney hasn't made a great animated movie by themselves since the Lion King.
I haven't seen Cars, but other than that, Disney/Pixar has been gold...

EXCEPT FOR MONSTERS, INC. WHICH SUCKED.
Pixar is indeed the ****, but I have to disagree with you about Monsters, INC.

brother bear was good or how about Lilo & Stitch ?

They were aimed at too young of an audience.

I'll give you that with lilo and stitch (even though i loved it) But Brother bear was basically like the lion king but with bears (not me saying it that's what i read from a review that made me want to see it. i did and it was cool)

I got that vibe from Brother Bear, too. Another movie I'd compare it to is Monster's, INC. Both were fine films, but I just felt like they kind of phoned it in on Brother Bear.

fair enough. I'll agree to disagree

Just like I personally like Pixar but I think they are over rated. I did not like Monster's INC , bug's life or the incredibles

Now don't get me wrong if people like them that's cool too. I just think people see the word Pixar and even if film is not that good for some reason give it A+ reviews.

I'm glad disney is going to start doing 2d movies again as 2d movies can fun. I liked Open season (even if it's not disney)

but yeah on topic Ratatouille does look fun.

Comparing them to The Lion King?:dazed:

Hell no. He said "great animated movie by themselves since the Lion King." I was saying they were cool maybe not as good as the lion king (love lion king dude) but they are good films that came out after it.

I've seen every Pixar movie except Cars and I don't plan on seeing this one either. Both look dull.

Cars was honestly was a step away from their typical movie and was definitely less humorous than most. This one looks hilarious, though.
Lilo and Stitch was aimed at too young an audience? It was the first Disney cartoon to be rated PG!

(and it rules)
Are you serious? It's about a destructive alien that becomes friends with a little girl, and they both learn the importance of friends. Meanwhile, they're being hunted by an inept evil scientist and his cooky assistant. Does that really seem like the kind of movie that's aimed at any group above the age of 12?
