Wall*E discussion [spoilers]

Re: Wall*E: The Next Disney/Pixar Film.

Hello Dolly is a musical, right?

I just had an image of Wall-E trying to make the enourmously fat humans in lounge chairs dance to it. You know, to convince himself the humanity he's come to love isn't a lie.

Re: Wall*E: The Next Disney/Pixar Film.

HELLO DOLLY WELL HELLO DOLLY ITS SO NICE TO HAVE YOU BACK WHERE YOU BELONG!

I probably know the lyrics to American musicals better than I have any right to.

YOU'RE LOOKING SWELL DOLLY WE CAN TELL DOLLY YOU'RE STILL GLOWIN YOU'RE STILL CROWIN YOU'RE STILL GOING STRONG!!!

WTF it's just Pinocchio with lasers LOL.

It maybe a modern Pinocchio (though I thought that was A.I) but it's still a good film that had humour and also emotion to it.

but let's not get off topic

Re: Wall*E: The Next Disney/Pixar Film.

2nd WALL-E teaser. It's blurry and will be available on the upcoming website www.BuyNLarge.com (as you can see, the link doesn't work quite yet). The only way you can see the teaser (if you can even call it that) is by the first link, to a YouTube click, or if you get the Ratatouille video game. But pretty soon, it'll be up on the web everywhere (like, probably tomorrow or Friday).

Enjoy!

And my joke is ignored.

Re: Wall*E: The Next Disney/Pixar Film.

I just watched the trailer on apple.com and I don't know, but it feels like a robot ET to me. :?

Meh. I haven't really been interested in Pixar's latest efforts. I haven't seen Cars or Ratatouille yet and I don't have any desire to.

Cars wasn't great, Ratatouille I think might be the best Pixar film yet...

I'm not seeing the Robot ET thing, but *shrug* to each his own.

Maybe when we another trailer it won't feel like that (though that never came across my mind).

Now, Cars was pretty good (ignore DSF ;)), but I haven't seen Ratatouille.

Re: Wall*E: The Next Disney/Pixar Film.

I didn't mean the movie felt like ET, it just seemed the character was modelled after the little alien himself, in both appearance and sound.

Ah.

I thought in appearance he looks like he was modeled after Johnny 5.

I have no idea what Jonny 5 is but it will be my life's mission to find out as much as possible.

Actually, I think I might have seen some of that... I don't remember it too well though.

Oh my god. This is how young you are. That scares me.

SHORT CIRCUIT is a cute little film that for my generation, was like... ET 2: THE SEQUELIFICATION. It was HUGE, everyone loved it, and it's one of those things that was much beloved in its time and since then has become a kitsch nostalgia love like the NES or David Hasslehoff. It also had a sequel, which was also funny too.

Great 80s stuff, but I dunno how well it's aged. :D

Cars isn't a bad movie, but moreso than any other Pixar movie, It isn't a timeless movie... Its closer to movies like Madagascar and Surf's Up! than other Pixar film, there are pop culture references up the wazoo. It's still a good, sweet movie, but its not as good as any of the other Pixar films.

Very true.

I hope this one is different. It seems like it will be.
