OC discussion *spoilers*

Tonight's Episode at 9 on fox is a Christmaka event. Let me explain, the Cohens are Jewish, and Ryan isn't. So, they combined Christmas and Hannakuh together! Anyway, tonight, it's the tale of: What will the OC be like if Ryan NEVER showed up? All I know is that Sandy is Mayor of Newport and Marrisa is alive. Can't wait!

Are you SERIOUS? So, basically, it's a riff on It's A Wonderful Life? That's pretty damn awesome. I hate that it means Mischa Barton will be returning for an episode, but it's worth it, just for the exploration of the What If? premise.

I'm seriosuly, honestly excited about that. (Oh no, does that mean I have something in common with Gamma Man?)

* gasps *

* knots eyebrows, Peter Gallagher style *

* resolves not to worry about it too much and just enjoy the show *

* goes off to read the recaps/download the Torrent *

She didn't, it was very misleading, though good.

i watched the OC once and only once.
They said it was like dawson's creek but they lied. Dawson's creek was very enjoyable but the OC made me want to kill myself.

:?

I thought both shows were aimed at teenage to early twenty-something females...?

THE O.C. HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY CANCELLED!!!

 :D 8) :) :p

Can I get a whoop-whoop?

If true, no great loss to me. No loss at all, really. Actually a gain, insomuch as that it leaves open the possibility a show that I'd actually watch and enjoy will fill this open timeslot.

I can honestly and proudly say---I have never seen a single episode of The O.C. And I never will. Not even 10-15 minutes of it.

Sigh.

Damn you Rachel Bilson. I hate that your spunky cuteness has made me watch this show. And I hate that your continued stance on wearing only bra's and bikini tops keep me coming back.

And Adam Brody's snarkish quips.

Sigh.

There is no measure to accurately record my shame.
This is Kristen Bell, being mad at you.

BAD DOG! BE ASHAMED!

Oh God in heaven....help me.

I can't help but find this show to be the best guilty pleasure in months! I'm deadly serious.

Once you get past the superficial teen drama of rich white kids living in Orange County, the show really does reek of good ol' fashion updated "90201" nostalgia. It's disgustingly entertaining.

I was looking for a TV show to watch that was already cancelled, that way there was no rush to get thru the series or do any catching up before any season premieres......and at the time I (along with Houde) were madly in love with Rachel Bilson from her "Chuck" appearances. So with her cuteness stuck in my head....I added "The O.C" to my online que.

What I wasn't prepared for? Peter Gallagher's eyebrows. Adam Brody's Sarcastic Pimptastic Comic Geek Extraordinare Qip Master Seth Cohen. Rachel Bilson walking round for the first 8 episodes in bikini tops. All of those things take you buy sweet surprise and next thing you know....you're entrenched in the show.

And right when you realize this sad fact that you're totally digging "The OC"---you decide that you're not gonna watch the next disc. But you do. And once you've firmly decided that you can live your life without seeing another episode of this show.......they hit you with "The Christmukkuh" episode. Complete with Rachel Bilson dressed as Wonder Woman.

**** you! I was entranced!

Ugh. The shame. There is no resisting Peter Galagher's eyebrows.

I LOVED The O.C. when it was first on. It quickly became a priority to watch, over Smallville (which was still pretty good at the time), but now I can't stand it. It has next to no replay value and by the end of the last season I couldn't stand any of the characters.

Meanwhile 90210 is one of my favourite shows ever. Even the crappier later seasons are almost as watchable as Friends (which is the most watchable television programme, ever).

I think the reason I prefer 90210 is because it had more characters (and all of them larger than life in a good way), managed to develop them effectively (at least for the first three years) and still managed to make them relatable in some way. What was crazy about 90210 is that it made you wish you could hang out with those characters. The O.C.'s primary characters are basically four teenagers who never really do anything other than brood and fight and don't have any other friends.

For me, the number one reason to watch The O.C. --- at least insofar as the first two seasons go --- is Peter Gallagher and his husband-style.

Seriously, some days I can love the kids and some days I can hate them, but Peter Gallagher never lets me down. If I ever am married and over forty, I want to be just like Sandy Cohen.

Also, I quite love Benjamin McKenzie in the second season, because at this point the show becomes a little self-conscious about how yammering and neurotic its characters can get, so they often put him in the position of rolling his eyes with an expression that says, "Why am I friends with this guy again?"

And he does it with such perfection that he's not actually THINKING it in his head, and does it with such perfection that not a hint of condescension is present in his performance.

I just wanthis eyebrows. They are just so magical.

It also makes me laugh everytime I think about the following scene---

Kiki: blah blah blah
Seth: blah blah blah sarcastic reply.
Kiki: You get that from your father.
*Seth reaches up and grabs his eyebrows* Seth: Oh God are they starting to come in?

It's true.

Watching conversations on this show is like reading Bendis' New Avengers......only as teenagers.

I have no clue why I am so addicted to this show. It's actually all very shameful.

Wait....I know why I love this....

Peter Gallagher's eyebrows.

And Adam Brody's sarcasm.

And Rachel Bilson's....well Rachel Bilson in general.

I am gonna kick myself later for admitting my love of this show. ****.
