It is now upon me to run the next Dreamcasting round.

Here is a poll, which should be deleted after enough votes have come in as for me to make a decision.

Do you want to see a round featuring a major superhero property, trying to give it the cool it has heretofore not been accorded in film/TV...

OR

...do you want to see a round featuring a lesser known superhero property with the challenge of casting it up to a level of cool?

What's a superhero?

And I mean that in the most existential way possible. :p

Hmmm....I'm torn. The bigger properties generally garner more attention/participation due to familiarity. But the lesser known properties are more fun and challenging to cast.

The Legion of Doom round wasn't a "big" round....but the "Amazing Spider-Man" before that was.....but the "Annihilation" round prior to that was pretty small.....as was the "Iron Fist" round before that. Ratio-wise I'd say we're due a "big name" round.

The only problem is finding a big property worthy of Ourchair.

A major superhero property!

*cough*Justice league*cough*

Does it hurt having your lips pressed so hard against Ourchair's arse

Well, the only issue I'm concerned with outside of the one being polled for is that I'm round moderator, meaning that regardless of what kind of property I moderate, it's going to be one that it is:

1) I have no ideas for outside of concepts, such as DC heroes (hence the fact that I ran a Green Lantern round)

2) A property I am not really interesting in playing competitively for. Because while I wouldn't want to be pegged as a self-infatuated braggart, I like to play to win and by win, I mean with a cast that plays for keeps, something I wouldn't feel compelled to do if I couldn't win.

Also, beware of Option 3. It means you're not getting a superhero property and I can pretty much do whatever the **** I want that isn't a superhero property.

Wasn't there a Fables round? I seem to remember one but couldn't find it on search.
For the last time --- since the question keeps coming up --- we have never had a Fables round.

We had a thread discussing a cast for Fables, but we never had a formal round.

Why do people keep forgetting?

Because I don't really care, I just figured we had done it. If not oh well there's another new round to do.
I'm not griping so much as I find it strange that for such a property that everyone keeps asking about you'd think people would have remembered if we had done it or not at this point.

I wouldn't say the same thing if people asked if we had done Sandman yet or not.

It's cool. I think it's a case of so many dreamcastings , dreammovie plus hread discussing a cast for Fables plus too many posts to remember them all it gets confusing.

oh and PLEASE do Justice League. There's a girl scout and her cookies in it for you if you do.

Have we?

And we should also do a Fables round, if we haven';t done one yet of course.

Or a Ex Machina round.

I would love to see a DMZ volume one dreamcasting round.

That would be awesome. But the only problem there is that DMZ (despite being awesome) is a lesser known property. I think there's maybe 6 people here that have ever read a single volume of Brian Wood's amazing imbedded journalist story.

By that logic we could just have a "Scalped" round.

****...I just came at the thought of that.

The Sandman could be awesome...

I'd also be up for a Fables round (i've actually been thinking about that one a lot recently for inexplicable reasons).

The Walking Dead would also be cool.

In lieu of a Justice League movie I would suggest a New Frontier round. So we have more defined characters to cast.

I would rather have just a Justice League round so we can pick versions we are more familiar with. Like someone may be more use to cartoon than comics and could cast cartoon versions.

That may not make much sense but I think if it's just "Justice league" like we had for other groups it would get more participation.

An "official" Fables round would be a welcomed change from the usual superhero comics of late.

THAT would be ****ing amazing! In fact I think I'm just gonna start casting it just for fun anyways.

I'm in agreement with that notion. It'd be a welcome twist on a tired idea.

But here's my thing---you JUST did a Justice League cast in the latest round for DreamMovie. Why would you want a Justice League round a week after you just did a cast? All you'd be doing is just copying a pasting your cast choices into a new round.

Maybe if there was a JL round a few months down the line, I could see it. But doing a JL round when you just did a JL cast last week is kinda redundant.
