Cloverfield (Spoilers!)

This always happens with movies. After the movie is out, they always have 'spoiler' content in new TV trailers.

The same was done with Spider-Man 3, for example.

awesome

Man, you know what I think would've been a much cooler and better ending? If right before they're about to carpet-bomb Manhattan, right after Rob and Beth's last message, they hear some deep, alien tone too loud to comprehend and the tunnel collapses around them, letting them look out with the camera, and what they see is the monster being picked up by another creature that looks basically the same as it only is 5 ****ing times bigger(let's say it's picking it up using those little limbs they have around their pelvis). It towers over every building in Manhattan and the island itself.

Rob and Beth freak out and are just screaming "Oh my God! Oh my God!" over and over. Then, after the "mother" creature has scooped it up and is holding it against itself, a huge bolt of lightning crackles down from the sky and they both disappear, an eerie silence left behind broken only by Rob and Beth's heavy breathing and sobs.

What do you think?

It would be cool if the bigger creature showed up and then they still died and we're left with two huge *** creatures rampaging.

But not if they just went away.

The point is that it was just a baby that got left behind somehow. The people behind the movie all talk about how it's more afraid than the people are. It didn't mean them any harm, it was just lost and incredibly big. I think the revelation that it's just an infant and having its mother rescue it would be awesome. What would be the point of just another one showing up to wreck things?

It would be, like, they have the creature on the ropes than all of a sudden a bigger and more horrible one appears and they have to start over. It would just be a "we're ****ed now" moment.

I think the idea is a pretty cool alternate ending.

And Joe Kalicki's, too.

Both cool ideas I would've loved to see as alternate endings.

I watched the DVD last night.

Not as good on repeated viewings. Even with a big screen and surround sound system.....this was one of those things that you needed to see in theaters.
