The Quentin Tarantino Thread

There is no such thing as a Kenjutsu duel that Lasts this long.

Even when two opponents with very similar levels of skill fight, it's extremely rare for there to be more than one or two strikes. Kenjutsu is designed to be quick and efficient, complimenting the Katana, which is often argued to be the best sword ever designed. Not to mention the fact that both actresses clearly don't know what they're doing. They're very obviously aiming at each other's swords rather than their bodies. It bothers me.

I don't really know (or care) if it's a tribute, but bad fight scenes ruined the first film for me (I never went to see the second). I'm not a big fan of most female martial artists in films, not as a sexist thing, but more as a muscle thing. Girls without any real muscle whatsoever (like most actresses) would not be able to put enough force behind a blow to damage any serious martial artist. Of course, if it were more common for male actors to be breathtakingly skinny and lethal at the same time, I'd whine about that too.

Yeah; it's just a movie. But having the standard set so low for fight scenes bothers me, as I am a big fan of martial arts films.

Screw that, I'm not getting banned because of you.

I still feel you're being a sexist snob.

I agreed with your first post skotti

I honestly don't think you need to be built with loads of muscles to kick *** , I also don't think Men can beat women. I believe who ever has the best training would win but if equal training size and sex do not matter.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog that matters.

Also no offence to wade but did his post remind anyone of that short little martial arts teacher from futurama "Ah-ha You lack the will of a warrior." "No girl has the will of a warrior. You have the will of a housewife." "I have the will of the warrior. Therefore, the battle is over. winner? Me , Rematch? You lose again! Had enough? I thought so!"

I can't find the Grindhouse thread... but I want this.

Fixed.

MTV's website was trying to kill my computer and I must have copied the wrong link.

Right now he's putting the two films together with an intermission with an added anime sequence he had already written," she said of the ongoing saga of Beatrix Kiddo. "So additional stories are in there, in animation."

Now that is the Kill Bill I have been waiting for. One solid movie instead of two with balance problems.

So apparently Inglorious Bastards has finally been written. How long has it taken? 15 years?

He wants to premiere it at Cannes 2009. I hope it will be done by then. I want another Tarantino movie to watch.

Inglorious Bastards is going to be about the same length as Pulp Fiction - 150 minutes. I read a rumour that Tarantino has been talking to Brad Pitt to star. I don't know about that.

I've got a copy of the original Kill Bill script which includes the chapter where Gogo's sister, Yuki, comes for Beatrix just after she's killed Vernita. It's also got a chapter with Bill being a general badass, gambling and killing.

Inglorious Bastards has been split into two movies, I hear. Some of the people that he's going to cast (I've heard) are Sam Jackson, John Travolta, Tim Roth, Casey Affleck, Brad Pitt, and Bruce Willis. So, pretty much his regulars plus Pitt and Affleck... Don't know if any of this is true, however.

It may have been split when it was a 600 page script (crazy) but now it's only Pulp Fiction length, so it'll just be one movie.
