So Thursday, CERN's going to turn on its LHC for the first time in an effort to make micro-black holes.

What this means for science could be anything from next to nothing to helping us understand space-time and something or nothing else.

We'll see.

Dr. Otto E. Rössler is worried that turning this thing may doom us all.

I've heard all kinds of things on what this might do. I don't know what to probably say other than I never thought it would get this far. I'd heard about it a half a year ago and it sounded like there were going to be some protests or something...and it doesn't appear to have ever happened.

We're assured everything is fine and under control and they can control micro-black holes. But no one's made these before. No one's tried to control them before...and this all reeks of bad.

I don't know. Thought you guys would like a head's up.

EDIT:

Oh here's a countdown to they turn it on.

I'm scared for us all right now.

This is the scientist speaking here.

Nice knowing you guys. Of course we'll get to know each other much more intimately once we've all collapsed into the same atom.

So actually the plan is just starting up the machine this Thursday, not a full fledged energy beam thing they are planning.

We got another month to live before they do that.

Oh thank god. I didn't want to die before the week of hell I have at work coming.

Just push the ****ing button. Either we'll all die or we won't. You know they're going to do it eventually anyway. Might as well get it over with.

This sounds like the birth of a Super-Villain

like exactly like Doc Ock's origin in Spider-Man 2

I just hope the world doesn't implode

I hope we all get ultimized.

I'm sorry I'm quoting myself, but I just noticed that that guy's name is, Dr. Otto E. Rössler

Otto

either he is a pot smoking bus driver with a serious Metallica obsession

or it's actually Otto Octavius in cognito

I'm scared

hold me

At least I get to have my 30th birthday party.

Um, so why are they making mini black holes again?

Lol, I thought it said Large Hard-on Collider!

They aren't actually making the mini black holes, mini black holes could be the side effect. They are actually shooting protons together at some ridiculous energy output to see what happens. Just so happens that this energy output is the same energy that mini black holes are created at.

But now worries, it's only being turned on at half power at first, to see what happens.

****ing Physics, I hated it in school, and I hate it now.
