So Thursday, CERN's going to turn on its LHC for the first time in an effort to make micro-black holes.
What this means for science could be anything from next to nothing to helping us understand space-time and something or nothing else.
We'll see.
Dr. Otto E. Rössler is worried that turning this thing may doom us all.
I've heard all kinds of things on what this might do. I don't know what to probably say other than I never thought it would get this far. I'd heard about it a half a year ago and it sounded like there were going to be some protests or something...and it doesn't appear to have ever happened.
We're assured everything is fine and under control and they can control micro-black holes. But no one's made these before. No one's tried to control them before...and this all reeks of bad.
I don't know. Thought you guys would like a head's up.
EDIT:
Oh here's a countdown to they turn it on.
