The egg muffin maker was a great invention, no doubt. But it is only the second greatest invention ever now.

The Popcorn Hour is now the greatest invention ever.

This is a device that you connect to your TV, and connect an external hard drive to it. On that hard drive you put movies. Pictures and music work too, but it's made for movies. You don't even need a hard drive, really. It can stream them over a network. It even has a built-in Bittorent client for downloading movies directly if you put a hard drive in it and are a filthy thieving pirate.

It can also connect to several web services like CNN Video and Youtube.

It has an HDMI out so it does HD video. But you can also connect it to basically any TV that has RCA/composite or s-video in.

I have a different brand that does the same thing, but this has a lot more options and features. I ordered one and am impatiently waiting for it.

How everyone else resists buying one, I will never understand.

I need one.

Eh, You could just get the right card for your pc to hook up pc to TV for less money and get the same effect but better.

So it's like an AppleTV. Cool.

Although, I'll probably keep my AppleTV just because of its integration with iTunes.

But that pay for a device manufactured by a company that successfully acquired the legal clearance for it is the most awesome part.

I mean, they won't even install MP3 players in Mercedes Benz cars is because their scared ****less of the possible legal implications of letting people play pirated music on their luxury cars.

They actually sell just the board for something like that, yes. But in my case I need to be able to move it around to different TVs so this isn't practical.

Very similar. This can handle many more different formats, including the ever-popular MKV.

Most of the cards to show pc on your tv or tv on your pc or both have gotten legal clearance too. But with everything legal clearance does not mean it'll be used only for legal movies ect...

Ah I assumed like me your pc and tv are in the same room

I use my PS3 for the same thing. What is the difference?

Please. I would never do something so tacky.

It's not tacky it's modern! You old fart you need a tv and pc in same room  One of these days I can see my "old fart" comments resulting in a Infraction for "Making fun of my age - E"

Given the title of the product and precedent set by the last thread, I assumed this would be some sort of machine that connects to your TV and makes an appropriate amount of popcorn for every hour you watch. I kept reading and was like "when do they get to the popcorn?".

In terms of the actual device..... what's the point?:|

This handles more formats. MKV is pretty standard and the PS3 can't read it, among others.

It's also a heckuva lot easier to move around.

Is there a program that makes it weigh less than 12,000 lbs.?

Yes it's called male testosterone, In other words be a man and lift it with out complaining

 Joking you know I  you really
