So, has anyone else picked up this book?

Because it's awesome. Quick and clever and featuring a cheesy back-up where Wolverine carries a gun.

I got a hold of it the other day and I love it. My favorite scene is where
they all start fighting each other, but Jimmy just says a few words and they're all friends again.

I bought the trade for the miniseries last week and, unlike Captain Britain and the MI:13 which bored me to tears (not a fan of magic or magiks or whatever), I thoroughly enjoyed this series.

It's a team of 50's super spies who reunite when their former leader is attacked and left comatose while on an unauthorized SHIELD mission. A killer possibly sentient robot, a Goddess, a talking monkey man, Namor's long dead cousin, a headband wearing Uranian, and their kung-fu wielding super spy leader take on a Yellow Peril caricature with SHIELD hot on their tail. It's pure fun and it ends with a wonderful twist that I kind of saw coming but enjoyed nonetheless. Oh, and there's a dragon. Who eats people.

The art is very good. The story is engaging and fun. The trade also had a bunch of great backup material. Two thumbs way up.

Somebody sell me on this book.

And please note that a talking monkey is only worth 40 points.

A former CIA team consisting of a talking gorilla, a retro-sci-fi death robot, and a Chinese-American posing as the legacy of an excessively racist Fu Manchu stereotype super-villain add the Greek goddess of love
but not really
and the Prince of Uranus to their team. Together, they pose as a HYDRA style super-villain network with a 1950's flair as a means to take down criminal corruption wherever they find it. Currently, that happens to be Norman Osborne's administration.

On their first mission, they steal the gold from Fort Knox.

I see.

Hurm.

I'll have to see if I can find the first TPB and get caught up so I can fully appreciate the story here.

Now that the series is on hiatus, the team is being spread out over other books-

The Marvel Boy comic was pretty good, it's about his heroing (or rather his attempts to become one) days in the 50's before hooking up with the Agents.

New on-going, ATLAS out in May - get behind this, people!!!!!!!

I'm so behind this I'm in front!

:)

...I have to applaud Marvel - they've given Atlas MORE than a fair shake. Atlas vs X-Men, vs. Avengers, Uranian Mini, Gorilla man mini this summer, Namora mini this summer, backing up Incredible Herc...

If it doesn't sell, they gave it a long leash. Thank you, Marvel, because this team is AWESOME!!
