These are the rules of Dreamcasting 2009, they may not be broken, altered or changed in any way shape or form. Seriously:

1) The winner of the last round becomes the moderator of the next round, and is free to choose any property to be cast, whether it is based from comics, videogames, books, cartoons or real world figures.

2) When the moderator chooses a property, he or she may specify a medium (TV, film, cartoon) and a cast of at least 4 characters and a maximum of 9. Should he or she fail to specify a medium, then it is open game what medium participants want to play with.

3) Actors may not reprise their parts at all. Those who have played a character on film or TV may not play the character on voice and vice versa. Simply put, Kevin Conroy cannot put on a Batsuit and Christian Bale is not allowed to voices in your fantasy Batman CG adventure.

4) If you would like to cast an additional character, you must swap one out for another. However, the moderator has the option of leaving blank spots deliberately, with a maximum of 9. For example, he or she may declare, "Fantastic Four, and at least two bad guys and a Fantastic Friend (i.e. She-Hulk, Power Man)

5) Each round lasts ten days from the point the moderator posts it, and voting lasts for at least a day and any time past that needed to secure a victory.

6) And a final reminder: This is Dreamcasting, not DreamMovie. There are no story pitches. You can describe the character, talk about the kind of arc perhaps he goes through or what nuance he brings to the character or what kind of incarnation he's playing, but you can't write a freaking trilogy. No exceptions. Emphasize casting decisions and why you chose an actor.

"Face it, Batman's never comin' back. Hadda happen eventually."

"Pyg is here to make everything perfect."

"If you're not up to it, stand aside, Dick Grayson."

"Everyone's a critic..."

Grant Morrison's

Batman and Robin

Might seem an odd choice, especially given that there's only been two issues; I just fell in love with the idea of a dreamcast/dreammovie based on this, given that the characters have all had their biggest upheaval in years. Just look at it as a loose adaptation, with the basic premise intact: Dick Grayson takes over as Batman, following Bruce's death, while the eccentric Damian takes over as Robin.

MUST CASTS:

- Batman/Dick Grayson

- Robin/Damian Wayne

- Alfred Pennyworth

- James Gordon

OPTIONALS:

- Pyg

- Toad

- Tim Drake

- Other villains

The round will end in two weeks.

Ah... I missed doing this! This seems like the perfect opportunity to restore my old track record.

Excellent choice, Gothamite!

Can I cast Christian Bale as Dick Grayson?

I believe I can.

HA!

How old is Dick supposed to be anyways? It's hard to tell when people in comics barely ever age.

Seems like he should be early to mid twenties right?

Whatever you decide, is right, just like whatever a comic book writer decides is right. Dick (like Bruce) varies in age depending on the writer. Right now in BaR, I would guess that he's about 27, but there are stories I've read from less than a couple of years ago where you could swear he was as young as 22.

Bruce is constantly fluctuating from 29 to about 45.

Batman/Dick Grayson – Ewan McGregor – I want him to have that toughness that dick has but also I wanted someone who could be a mentor/father figure like batman was to him. That why I chose Ewan McGregor as I see it been played very similar to Ewan's Obi-wan.

Robin/Damian Wayne – Taylor Lautner – I needed a tough young actor to be the violent Damian. Now from the descriptions I thought Taylor Lautner had what I was looking for this robin.

Alfred Pennyworth – John Cleese – The way I see it Alfred is not there to give the same advice like he was too bruce and could be used in a more light hearted way. I love the idea off Alfred been played by John Cleese I think it would be memorable.

James Gordon – Robert Patrick – He has this old tough cop vibe to him. Example when he was on "The Unit" as Colonel Tom Ryan. I think he'd be an interesting choice for Gordon and I'd believe him in the role which is important. Though hair will need greying

Jason Todd – James Franco – I wanted someone who could play basically a parallel of the hero as this is my villain for the movie. I wanted him to be someone who could play a dark psycho villain but with out loosing the fact he was once good and not many could pull that off. I think James Franco could.

Bruce Wayne/Batman – David Boreanaz – This is for flashback purposes. I wanted someone you would believe was the dark protector of gotham, The playboy bruce but also 2 separate roles for the robins. For dick he's like a father but for Jason he's like a heartless trainer trying to make him tough . David Boreanaz is my choice. (I've used him pretty much everytime as batman as i think he would be great one.)

Young Dick /Robin – Gus Lewis – He played young bruce in begins so I thought why not use that and have him play the young kid bruce saw himself in? Again flash back purpose so it'll work.

Young Jason./Robin – Eli Snyder
– I don't see him in this much just a few flashbacks showing him slowly becoming more like he is. He did a cool job as young Rorschach and young Leonidas in flasbacks. So why not.

No, bad Mole! Stealing Boreanaz from me! Bad Mole!

I love Ewan McGregor and John Cleese and Robert Patrick. Very cool.

Batman and Robin
Written by Grant Morrison
Directed by David Lynch
Cast by Langsta

Dick Grayson/Batman - Joaquin Phoenix
Joaquin is a great actor. He looks young but at the same time looks old enough to carry the "60+ years" of Dick Grayson's career as Robin.

Damian Wayne/Robin - unknown
Actors in Hollywood grow up so fast, so I'd cast an unknown to fit Robin's age. Just like they're doing with Hit-Girl in the KICK-*** movie.

Alfred Pennyworth - Christopher Plummer
Plummer is starring in DOCTOR PARNASSUS this December after taking quite a long break from acting (at least in any major movies). His screen presence might overshadow the other characters, but .... Alfred's supposed to be an ex-actor anyways. Actually, I don't like this choice but whatever.

Comr. James Gordon - Kevin Costner
Kevin Costner's a veteran actor who hasn't been in many movies in a few years. Gordon is a veteran cop who has just recently returned as commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department. Costner also somewhat resembles Gordon when he has a moustache.

Not bad Langsta. I'm almost there I just have to nail down Drake and Gordon and Alfred. I'm almost positive that I've got a plot (not necessary I know) that will blow everyone's minds.

Heh. Great cast Langsta.

Although, Lynch seems a bit of a sketch choice to me. Morrison describing B&R as "influenced by Lynch" seems like kind of a shaky presumption to me.

I'm working on a cast of my own, and while the villains and supporting cast are solid, I'm having a hell of a time deciding on leads. But, Terry Gilliam will most certainly be directing it.

I seriously think I'm Nostradamus incarnate. Or something. Yeah, well I wasn't sure on my Alfred casting, but I thought the tone of the Doctor Parnassus trailer would work well for Morrison's Batman and Robin. But I didn't know anything else that Terry Gilliam had directed, so I just passed on it and went with David Lynch. But I think I seriously have weird stuff like that happening to me all the time. It's like I think about stuff that's going to happen, but I don't know it's goign to happen until after it actually happens. It can't all be a coincidence! Like how Nostradamus was able to tell the future, but his visions weren't all that clear and some of them came to him in code.

But thanks guys.
