INFORMATION
FlashForward is a science-fiction television series that is based on the 1999 Prix Aurora Award-winning novel Flashforward by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer. With the end of Lost in 2010, ABC Studios hopes it will be a companion series to the show during its sixth and final season.

PLOT
On October 6, 2009, at 11:00 A.M., Pacific Time, a mysterious global event causes everyone on the planet to simultaneously experience, for two minutes and seventeen seconds, his or her life six months into their own future: April 29, 2010, at 10:00 P.M., Pacific Time. When it is over, many are dead in accidents involving vehicles, aircraft, and any other device needing human control. Everyone who survived the global blackout, dubbed the "GBO," is left wondering if what he or she saw will actually happen.

The FlashForward event that shook the world goes from global to mobile with Flash Ahead, sponsored by Sprint. Go beyond the GBO to access bonus features that may include videos, photos or text messages.

Mark Benford isn't the only one trying to piece together a complex puzzle. Now, FlashForward fans can take matters into their own hands as they explore and investigate this worldwide phenomenon.

A keyword will appear briefly within the trailer that runs during the end credits of each episode. Sprint customers can text the keyword to 22288 to access the bonus content.

Look for a keyword each week beginning with the FlashForward premiere on September 24, 2009, and continuing throughout the fall. Anyone who misses the keyword during the Thursday airings can head over to ABC.com on Fridays to see the weekly keyword.

All keywords will be posted on this page in the order that they are revealed on-air. Unscramble the keywords and you may uncover a sentence that adds a surprising twist to the mystery.

Flash Forward

I figured I'd make this thread now... It's only a matter of time, I think, before this show starts catching on to people.

The first episode had a lot of potential. They dance around a lot in a short amount of time pretty well and the suspense and mystery is built very much like Lost and Heroes. While you aren't immediately engaged or invested in the characters, I have a feeling if we let this one grow it'll surely turn into a tree.

What do you guys think?

The concept seems a bit finite, I'm not sure how long this can last as a series

Agreed. I hope it sticks out and somebody makes a wiki for the show. Like Lostpedia. I have been thinkin' about starting to watch Heroes. I might buy the first season and see what I think.

When the world's population is given a glimpse of their future due to a mysterious global event, it forces everyone to come to grips with whether their destinies can be fulfilled or avoided.

Demetri and Mark travel to Utah in search of a suspect who might be connected to the global blackout; Olivia runs into the man from her vision.

Don't bother with Heroes. The entire show peaks on the 17th or 18th episode of the first season and goes sharply downhill from there.

As for this show, I'm intrigued, but I honestly don't know how long it will stay interesting. It has a long way to go to become "The Next Lost".

I don't think it will ever be the "Next Lost" But just a show a lot of Lost fans can jump on to.

I agree. I don't really think it reaches Lost in terms of storyline or entertainment value and I don't think it ever will to be honest. Lost was the first of its kind, FlashForward is Lost's step son.

Did anyone find the Oceanic Airs poster tacky? I don't like shows that place easter eggs referring to Lost anymore.

They made it too easy to see. And I hope they don't try to make it another Lost. I just want it to be a show of its own.

I can see this becoming a much better show than it is currently... I'm disappointed that it seems like the whole FlashForward plot is going to be resolved by the end of the first season... That seems a poor choice, unless we find out that it's... I dunno... Aliens or something. And it becomes an Invasion series... I dunno. I'm interested but not captivated.

I feel exactly the same way, there's not much to the concept to keep it sustained. It's based on a book of the same name, I don't want to spoil anything but the flash forward is the only really science fiction thing, the rest is more about the social, moral, cultural, personal, etc, etc consequences/fallout of such an event. They may have changed it for the series but really the show will run out of steam unlike a show like Lost where you can keep it going for a long time by adding more and more layers to the mythology.

Check it!!

I haven't seen the show, but what you pointed out intrigue me, that everyone flash forward to the date of the Finally. Which really makes me wonder what the hell will happen to keep it going for even just another season

Everyone will have another flashforward. I believe this is the ongoing plan.

Whether that will remain interesting after the first season is uncertain.

I think once April 29, 2010 at 10:00 P.M. in Los Angeles (orwhatever time zone you're in) comes along, they'll have another flashforward instead of living out their previous flashforward

Yeah that will definitely fail, they have to add some else for the long run, if it's just going to be repeated flash forwards the show will be quite lame

What about Prison Break?
