So I just found this site today. It's an online library of comics. According to them it's legal and they've been up and running since 2008.

It's far from complete (look up Amazing Spider-Man) but they have a lot of older stuff. If you ever want to check out some comics without downloading, go here first.

How do you read them?

EDIT: Never mind, I got it.

Awesome, I've been trying to find a good place to read me some Cassadra Cain Batgirl.

Find a title, click an issue and it should open up a viewer in that window where you navigate page by page.

This is a pretty good find, thanks. I don't know how exactly this is legal but I think it will be quite useful.

Yeah, I didn't notice the links at the bottom, but had gone to the master list of all the titles, but you can't click on anything there.

this has batman and robin (Morrison) through issue #6
Johns' Green Lantern though issue # 46
every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man (the first volume)

how did i live before I found this site!?!

and all i did was search "free comics online"

EDIT: and according to a link on the site, it's legal because it's a library, not a distributor. You can't download the comics and there are no advertisements. This is just like borrowing graphic novels from a physical library.

AWESOME!

EDIT AGAIN: by the way, if you can't find a title where it should be, keep looking. I looked up 'Amazing Spider-Man' and they only had about 8 issues, but 'Spider-Man (Amazing)' had 8 different issues AND 'Spider-Man' has issues 1-600 of ASM

and the full run of the 90s series 'Spider-Man' is under 'Spider-Man (Marvel)'

Technically they are right but there has been enough precedent set in lawsuits by the RIAA regarding distributorship that the publishers of these comics will have a case for suing the site out of existence. So enjoy it while you can.

apparently this is one site in a much larger project to upload all books and magazines into an online library.

also apparently, they have a legal team that has worked it out with Marvel (and i would assume, DC, etc)

I don't know how they fund all of this.

I'd be surprised if this was really true. I can't see Marvel agreeing to something like this at all.

I've notice that some of the scans I've read have been provided by a downloading group that I see around a lot.

Man... I hope Casey's Wildcats is loaded soon. It's listed as upcoming.

I've been wanting to read that.

If I can figure out the reading order, I am going to use this site to read Annihilation.

This site is amazing. I was looking through and I don't even know where to begin. I wish this was out when I was really thirsty for comics.

I finished all of the Batgirl vols. 1 and 2, and while I liked the first volume well enough, Adam Beechen should never be allowed near Cassandra Cain again.

I'm reading MiracleMan and Bendis' run on Daredevil.

I also plan on getting caught up on DMZ and 100 Bullets.

i picked up DMZ again after about 2 years (i like them in trades)...... it just got weird

he went from a reporter to a terrorist

I've been reading all the old "New Teen Titans" stuff that isn't collected into tpb.

And now i'm working on 52 as well. I found the first two volumes in the library a few years ago and never the third or fourth. I'm excited to finally be able to finish it.
