The All About Comic Book Movies Thread

I like what I'm seeing from the costume so far. That said, I'm not really worried about the costume design, visuals, etc. That seems to be Snyder and Co's strong suit. I'm worried about the story balancing Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Aquaman without falling into a complete mess.

Agreed. Still wondering how they think they're going to balance even the three confirmed heroes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman), let alone the various rumored cameos (which admittedly don't need any real development, but still...).

lol They still don't know what to do with the eyes.

What's wrong with the eyes? I see no reason that approach doesn't work. Keep in mind the lenses approach would lessen the ability for the actor to portray emotion while in the mask. It'd also look stupid. Plus the human eyes peering out from the cowl adds a cool element of intimidation for the thugs.

This is definitely the best Batman costume they've had onscreen in live action.

Yeah, I think the eye thing is a silly criticism. It's one of those areas where live action is inherently different from the comics. Having a white lens or slits in the cowl where the eyes are, looks cool in the comics, but I don't know how well it could be pulled off on a physical costume.

He takes the mask off and looks like a raccoon lol. It just really makes me giggle everytime I see their eyes. Has since Keaton.

I like that they feel the need to mold that look of consternation into the brow area of the cowl.

FOX SETS "DEADPOOL" MOVIE FOR 2016, SHIFTS "FANTASTIC FOUR"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox's "Deadpool" spinoff will finally see the light of day on February 12, 2016. Tim Miller is set to direct, and while it's assumed that Ryan Reynolds will star, no deal is yet in place.

Other notable changes to Fox's release calendar, according to THR, include moving Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" to August 7, 2015, replacing "Assassin's Creed" off the 2015 summer calendar completely.

I honestly didn't think it would happen, due to Fox being apprehensive about doing an R-rated, ultra-violent, humorous, over the top comic book film (a Deadpool movie done right).

I'm still worried they may try to tone it down to go for a PG-13 rating in an attempt to increase box office (since R-rated films, especially R-rated comic book films, usually don't do well at the box office). However, much like Dredd, with good word of mouth, it could recoup costs and profit hugely on DVD.
