Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline (Part 2)

My personal theory is that Cap signed the Sokovia Accords, which led to him still being an Avenger in this timeline. Due to the Avengers Civil War no longer happening, Peter is recruited in 2017. He also recieves a different suit.

Thor: Ragnarok plays out the same for the most part of course, because they're only affected by Earth business during the Doctor Strange cameo and Hela introduction. Thanos' assault on the Asguardians happened the same.

For whatever reason, Ant-Man and the Wasp happens slightly later in the timeline. It's fine.

I think Bruce ends up on Earth the same day, though.
I was of the mind that the Nexus event here was Janet getting the virus. The events from then on (whenever it happened) played out the exact same because the difference existed in the quantum realm separate from everything else.

What I think occurred here was that everything played out the same, but when the zombies took over, Cap and Iron Man made up and tried to fight them. I don't think there is any reason to believe the Civil War didn't occur

I ever thought that every TV Show episode that chronologically ocurrs after IW is part from an alternate timeline, but nothing has been confirmed, so ok
Yeah, with everything we now know about the multiverse/ timelines via Loki, What If, and etc,
idk why we still need to bend over backwards to slot the ABC, Hulu, and Freeform shows into the main timeline.

Because there isn't any in-universe proof that they aren't in the main timeline. The multiverse concept isn't just an excuse to sweep whatever people want under the rug, there still has to be proof that these things exist in alt. timelines or branches or what have you. Until there is confirmation that the main timeline has, say, a different Jessica Jones or a different Matt Murdock or Luke Cage, there's no reason to believe those things don't take place in the mainn timeline.

The Netflix stuff is slightly easier to cram in (at the moment anyway),
but shows like AoS wrote themselves out of the main timeline in-universe and never recovered by the time the series finale came along and newer canon projects have contradicted lore from it.
It just requires a lot of unnecessary mental gymnastics to make work.

I don't really understand your point of view here. The only times AoS wasn't in the main timeline was when they branched off during Season 7 and that season ended with them returning to the main timeline and in Season 5 when they were in an alternate future but returned.

Name a contradiction. I'll counter it.

Hey, have you guys seen the MCU wikia timeline? There, Iron Man is in 2009 and Fury's Big Week in 2010. What do you think?

I think that Iron Man is in either 2008 or 2010 (I think 2008 but I REEEEALLY don't want to argue about it.) Fury's Big Week includes Thor which is stated by Fury to happen "last year" in Avengers which is firmly placed in 2012. In short...it's wrong. Do you know what logic they are using?

Well, they have an article just with explanations here. But basically, they gather all the evidence and try to find the best possible date without ignoring any reference.

Hmmmm. That's an incredibly problematic approach. It completely ignores any real world influences on the media. Like Captain America: The First Avenger dates the World's Fair in 1943, however the Comic adaptation of the same film dates the World's Fair in 1942. Is that a mistake? Is that an intentional retcon? Both instances of this dating can't be correct, so instead of committing to one correct answer, they average it out and CREATE an incorrect answer. Like, Iron Man is EITHER 2008 or 2011. To average it to 2009 and 2010 makes it completely incorrect.

So is Hawkeye set in Dec 2023 or Dec 2024? What are we thinking? If it's 2023, then the BW post-credit's scene is firmly November 2023 due to the weather in Ohio.

They said it's their first Christmas together in years, so it would have to be 2023 I think.
I'm pretty much in agreement with you. The only thing confusing me at the moment is that his daughter looks...older. If this was a few months after she returned, would she really age that much?
