Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline (Part 2)

Personally I still think the 2023 placement works best for Eternals. I get the whole "the world seems too normal" thing but on that note idk what we really expected to see. I mean the film isn't really about the average citizen or people that got snapped away so I don't see why they'd put a focus on it cause it doesn't affect the film much. I mean there is a reference with the news report questioning if they events are related to Thanos which to me makes me think it's still soon after cause that's the first thing they suspect the earthquakes are caused by. Don't get me wrong it's a fair point that the world seems very normal but Marvel has always been bad for making the films largely ignore the others when it comes to big seemingly world changing events, even the other projects released give short mentions to it with few exceptions. Like I doubt we'll see many projects mention the stone space god that showed up in the ocean or the one that appeared in space shortly after.

But the main thing that makes me think it's soon after Endgame is Ajak mentions the return of 50% of the population as the reason the Celestial is hatching and they have a week till she does. It seems weird to me that Ajak would be unaware Tiamut was hatching for so long when that's kinda her job or that she would've been aware and only finally notified Ikaris in the last week. Overall I think the 2023 placement works best for that. Admittedly the lack of effect seen in the world after the snap is unfortunate but not unexplainable

Also, during the dinner scene, when Sprite brings up the question of who will be the new leader of the Avengers with Iron Man gone and Captain America missing, it seems like a pretty recent question to ask.

Eternals being in 2024 always made more sense to me. The world just seems very settled for it being only a couple of weeks post-blip, and I feel like for years later every time there was anything unusual people would be going "oh god is this another blip".

That being said it could still work as being in 2023. I guess we will find out when Eternals 2 comes out and we get a bit more context
Nah, definitley ocurrs on Fall 2023, just take a look at the weather, the trees are some orange, definitley begins at October 2023, it appears to begin acouple of days after Endgame, i can't be more sure that it begins right after Endgame and ends within the beginning of WandaVision, at least according to the Wiki's timeline

The only issue with Eternals placement in 2023 that I hope they eventually address is the giant in the ocean. Seems like it would become a huge deal that that is there now, but even a year later in 2024, no one has brought up anything about it. Not uncommon in the MCU to do that, but it's just a really big thing that I hope they address again at some point

Yeah I would love a reference to that sometime soon but like you said it's not uncommon for the MCU to ignore things like that.

In case no one mentioned it yet, the MCU Timeline on D+ changed again. Not only did they swap BW and BP back, so the order is CW, BW, BP, but they also added the 5 one-shots they have access to, to the timeline as well.

Would there be any way we could contact Disney+ to ask them about their timeline placement for The Dark World and Eternals?

It'll probably change more. I'm not counting it or even considering it.

I don't know and i don't think so, but maybe taggin' Disney or Marvel Studios on Twitter or something, but directly i don't think so

Me neither, but I wanted to bring it up in case others do use it. I do appreciate D+ putting the one-shots into the timeline though as it adds credence to their canonicity if some people were unaware of them.

I suppose deleted scenes dont count but they just dropped a bunch on twitter including Clints origin story
