I agree. Like I don't think it's a stretch to say people with powers have exsisted and various organizations like SHIELD just kept them on the downlow. I wouldn't mind maybe an event or something that explains a sudden awakening of the X-Gene, I'd take something as simple as the 2 snaps energy burst referenced in Endgame affected mutants and started activating X-Genes. But overall just drop mutants in, who tf cares.I really think Chan Ho Yin should logically be a mutant. He's based off a character from the comics who is a mutant and his powers were almost completely unexplained.

Ray Johnson, who you may know as John Wraith from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, was referenced on WandaVision. He's a mutant character but we know nothing of him in the MCU.

Of course, Sony's Spider-Man Universe has already introduced mutants into its continuity with Shriek. Madame Web is also a mutant. There's no reason to believe they aren't mutants so I'm assuming they are.
I really don't think we need a big explanation for mutants in the MCU. Just introducing them naturally like any other character is fine.

Some good info from SDCC today. Looks like Freshman Year kinda wrote themselves out of canonicity. Zombies is a continuation of the What If episode AND will be rated TV-MA which is pretty exciting. What If S2 will be next year. And S3 is greenlit

I'll keep it in the timeline for now, in case there is a framing device set in the MCU, like in What If.

There aren't a lot of ways this can still fit in the MCU (Time travel? Post NWH framing story? Maybe Peter has nightmares about lives in parallel universes?) but how about this: the whole first season it appears to be unrelated to the main MCU, apparent anachronistic appearances of Doctor Strange, Doc Ock, and all the rest, and then in the last episode Tom Holland pops in--and it turns out it's all been post NWH and we've been following a slightly younger clone of Peter this entire time. He's able to take on Peter's identity because Strange's spell made everyone forget the real Peter Parker. Stealth clone saga.

So they lied when they said "The animated series follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU", since it never was intended to be MCU canon.
