I don't know what places the G.I. Joe films so close together timeline-wize, but Selfishmisery's overview seems to have missed the dialogue suggesting the sequel was set at least after September 1st while the first film occurs between August 9th and August 19th.

The Operation HISS comic suggests that the sequel is probably at least a little past mid-September though. Maybe this gets retconned by the sequel though, we'll see.

Yeah... there's no reason Retaliation has to occur only a week and a half after The Rise of Cobra from what I can tell. I didn't spot a 2015 date at all either.

The only dates (that I can verify) are:
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra = August, in the near future
G.I. Joe: Retaliation = pre-2016, one month before Global Warming summit

So, I think if there's no 2015 date, August-October 2013 is suitable (Retaliation released in 2013). There was a UN Climate Change Conference in November 2013, so one month prior is October, and then you can match the time passage shown in the Operation HISS comic to bring it into October.

Funny enough, if you wanted to connect to Transformers, that makes things easier. With dialogue at the end that states "with the world back in order, rebuilding has begun around the world", there's an implication that London will be rebuilt, and there'd be a 10 year gap between this film and The Last Knight for that to occur.

I would say between RotF and DotM game, or during the game maybe? I don't remember if they say there hasn't been a decepticon attack until the game, in that case it has to do during the game or in January 2013 before the DotM film.

In fairness, it's possible that the Dark of the Moon game is set in 2013 and it's three years after the Decepticons were last seen in the comics.

it can work both ways, the game is set in December 2012 so circa 3 years, but it can work as in january 2013 too.

December 2012 is very close to the events of Dark of the Moon and 3 years after 2009, when Revenge of the Fallen happened... but including the tie-in media, they have to happen in at least 2010, meaning that 3 years since the last Decepticon sighting would be 2013, and since the game takes place immediately before the film, that would work out perfectly... unless something is made to occur in 2011 or 2012.

btw i want to point out that 3D is in-continuity with prepare for battle and metrobase according to the wiki.

They're tie-ins to the ride so that's expected.
