Stephen King Multiverse Headcanon Multiverse Timelines by Iceman109

@FruityWho50
I personally think Cat's Eye intentionally connected what it did connect to, but something should be noted. At one point, a character is watching The Dead Zone on TV, and at another, we see a character reading Pet Semetary.

So, yeah. If you take this to mean that the Saint Bernard dog is just a random dog and the Christine car is just being driven by a fan of King's works, perhaps it's easier to have a consistent timeline where there's no continuity link to Cujo.

I was thinking if the Stephen king adaptations were more like a multiverse in the same vein of the MCU atm but also structured like the canon universe and legends universe from Star Wars

For example misery could be considered canon to adaptations that released around the same time as it such as dreamcatcher or the it miniseries and we would call them them Universe B and that would leave all the newer adaptations like it 2017 and the dark tower to exist in the main continuity without inserting films or tv from other universes such as the older or alternate timeline adaptations.

I've found all of the Stephen King Adaptations excluding the episodes he produced for other tv shows like X-files and Monsters, etc. as they have a separate continuity.

Thought we could go through them and fill in the settings and reorder them chronologically and then figure out which groups of adaptations work well together.

The Marsten house looks different between Castle Rock and 'Salem's Lot (2024)... but, well, I guess it's not a big deal. The X-Mansion does the same thing constantly and no one complains despite how little sense it makes.

Plus, uuuuuhhh... magic is real. Anything could happen.

Maybe we should do a timeline of the solidly connected entries. Could be interesting.

I didn't know this thread exist until yesterday lol. I haven't seen many Stephen King adaptation (only It, Salem's Lot 2024, Shawshank Redemption and The Long Walk recently) but this summer I started my journey with his books. So far I've read 6 books (11/22/63 has to be my favorite), currently reading The Green Mile. I came up with an idea of creating a timeline for books and I've searched on this site to see if there already is one and I saw this timeline. So far I haven't read enough of his books to create my own thread, but I will be noting as much timeline indicators that I'll find as I can. As of now I don't know if it's going to a reading order or a detailed chapter by chapter timeline because reading order could be easy to make and will probably be boring because most of King's works take place the year they were published and for the other hand the chapter detailed timeline could be too hard to make maybe because of The Dark Tower series, which I haven't even started but I'm sure it's not a simple, one dimensional story.
What are your thoughts?

I saw this on reddit, if it helps. Personally, I would probably have placed the updated version of The Stand as set in the 1990s and assume it's simply another, similar universe to the original book.

It'd be cool to see the book timeline placed alongside every single adaptation as a complete Stephen King multiverse timeline, but that's definitely too much to ask for.

I mean that each adaptation would be placed when it's set in it's own universe and we treat it like different levels of the Tower, so to speak.

CZ's World claims that the picture of Cujo in Pet Sematary (1989) is from the 1983 movie. If so, that logically puts Cujo, Christine (?), Cat's Eye and Pet Semetery in the same continuity.

Funny enough, that would make Pet Sematary in-universe fiction written by Stephen King while also being a real event which... actually is accurate to the books. There's references to the books and movie adaptations within the main timeline where those books happen.

Maybe the 1981 short is referencing the same Cujo from the movie, but in an event where he went missing BEFORE Cujo happened. The bloody red car then has nothing to do with Cujo's collar or the missing poster.

That way, the short is a prequel to Cujo where some bad shit happened in Castle Rock while Cujo was missing four years before he got rabies.
