Help Support The Comic Board:

Also is Red Dead the same universe as HD Universe? I guess it was added because a time traveller character from GTA appears in Red Dead, but I thought Red Dead used real life locations unlike GTA, which seems like a deliberate choice to make Red Dead more grounded.

"This kinda helps support your theory in red dead 1 there's some stranger missions about a man traveling to California. Which is obviously called San Andreas in the grand theft auto universe."
Hmm.

There's songs and the radio that mentions real locations. I never saw an issue with both the real and parody locations being on the same planet.

Yeah but if the Red Dead games went out of their way not to reference the fictional GTA cities and only the real life ones, it might mean they don't really consider it the same universe.

If Someone doesn't reference an event doesn't make It not Canon.

It shows the intent really. Otherwise, they would show concrete connections to the series like inbetween Manhunt and 3D GTA.
I'll make a simple and pratical example.... "I'm sitting at my desk" with that you know an event that happened in our universe, but if I didn't tell you you would be unaware. Don't knowing it or avoid to mention it, prevent it from happening? Nope.

That's why I also find this argument as just an excuse to leave out certain media just cos of peoople's judgement.

Anyways LA Noire and Red Dead are here to stay.

Wait Red Dead is part of the 3D Universe? I thought it was part of the HD universe because of the GTA Online family thing? Or is it just part of both universes?

If the fictional cities and states and their real life counterparts coexist, do you think it's the same thing with the fictional brands and their real life counterparts?

That would only apply if Rockstar came out and said that Red Dead is the same universe as GTA, then it would not be a requirement for the games to acknowledge each other, but since Rockstar never made such a statement to my knowledge, all we can go off on are tenious connections, so such acknowledgements are important.

Hes not gonna remove it. He already has Mafia which has 0 connections to anything. Why would Red Dead be removed just for more tenuous connections?

@Megatron Vice City Stories should take place after the release of Terminator (October 26, 1984) as Lance Vance references it. He probably wouldn't reference a movie that had yet to come out.

LANCE: I'm the Lance Vance-erator!

LANCE: Ain't nothing can hurt me!

LANCE: I'll put you all in a Lance Vance trance!

LANCE: They're running for it. It's time to turn up the pain!

[They kill all the Mendez goons]

LANCE: We rolled over them like a big, bad bowling ball. Let's find
another lane of pain. Come on. Aw, man, this is easy.
VIC: We've been lucky so far. Stop being such a dick,
"Lance-erator".
LANCE: I killed more than you. I should be in charge of this outfit.
VIC: Bite me.

Just wanted to leave these fantastic guides here that make the 100% and beyond of RDR, RDR2 an GTA V fit in order as you play from mission to mission. I think this provides a great resource in breaking down the games later down the line.
