Yeah, I need to add the other Dr Mario games since the person who made the video I based this on grouped the majority of them together as ports (since they're all pretty much just reissues of the first one)
Yeah they're not really meant to be the same events lol. Miracle Cure is presumably set after BIS because in the ending of BIS they mention the miracle cure being made for the blorbs or whatever

Honestly I'd love to see the Sonic and Pac-Man versions of this eventually (going level by level, including EVERY game), I know a sonic timeline is technically on here but feels abandoned and also kinda not that great or as comprehensive as the Mario timeline here.

I was playing some of the game gear games earlier so I might start my own eventually. I want to wait for Sega to confirm the Classic Game order first though because it's hard to tell if Mania is immediately after 3 or at the end of the classic era before superstars. Hopefully they update that timeline page on Sonic Channel soon, it's been like 2 years

What's interesting about PAC-Man is that they've referenced the 256 error so much that it's basically become canon with the error eating up the maze, so an every-level thing would have to list all 255 levels for any PAC-Man arcade game with the 256 error

Yeah and there's a mobile game that takes place entirely in the glitch level

Btw you're probably not gonna want to do this but personally I think you should axe the idea of the games taking place on their release dates.. because that's usually not the case when they do give the dates in the games. I think it's fine to just have the games dates as unknown until other evidence can be found for the date. Using the release year is fine since that's the format this site already uses for everything else but I think using the month and day is too far imo

Because release dates are often the only date to go off, and the amount of other franchises I want to add to this, I'm leaving release dates on (at least for now) to make it easier to update the timeline

Well, this slipped through the cracks of finding other Mario timelines I guess. It's another one that's just someone attempting to make an overarching narrative where there isn't one

I mean, you can still place everything in release order when necessary, you just don't need to put the game as occuring on the release date. Especially when a lot of these games I'm pretty sure take place over multiple days (some levels happen at night)

Yeah too many people do this for Mario timelines lol. I remember people tried doing that for Kirby too at one point before the games actually did an overarching story (back in the day probably tried to force Kirby 64 to be at the end of the timeline because Kirby could combine copy abilities in that one)

It's just more convenient for adding new things so I can see the exact order they released, without having to google release dates

That's fair. I guess maybe after literally everything is done it can be changed or something so you don't get burnout now from that. Same thing with the Arcade levels being added we talked about before with DK and Wrecking Crew

I suppose since technically DK Arcade narratively ends at 200m (or whichever the last on is) so I should include them. That'd go for Wrecking Crew as well

Yeah but I'm thinking that should wait until after the rest of the timeline is done because of burnout. They're less important in the grand scheme of things to have go level by level at the moment. I just think it would look cool in the final product so it can definitely wait

Btw are you gonna add the 2nd Quest levels for Super Mario Bros?

Also shouldn't the level titles for Mario go like "World 1-1" not just "1-1" like you currently have it?

… yeah I guess. I also gotta put "level" before all the Yoshi games then. I should do it as early as possible, I've been with family all day and will be for much longer. I'll have about 4-5 free hours tomorrow, then idk how much time I'll have on Monday but it's a bank holiday so I should be able to get some more done. I do want to break things down into levels before adding anything else, just because it takes sooooo much longer from a formatting standpoint if I put it all there, then go back and do the levels

Unrelated to this thread but I also need to change my Bloons and Angry Birds timelines, since those were both massively "try and make an overarching narrative to get the games to work" - Angry Birds especially, I tried fitting in the movie continuity in because AB2 and Reloaded heavily imply they're canon to an extent, and some guidebook from years ago mentioned Leonard being a previous king pig who was overruled by Smoothcheeks (games King Pig) like 5 years before the movie. I also did a world piece ending to fit GO! for some weird reason

Iirc Angry Birds Pop 2 bills itself as being set immediately after the second film

I think Angry Birds has their own Multiverse they outlined it on a website I believe. For some reason Space is a separate universe which is really lame... Unless Space was universal travel rather than space travel or something

Okay okay one last 3rd SimCity addition, SimCity 64 apparently also has Dr Wright? Though it's Japanese exclusive for the Disk Drive of the 64 so it's probably gonna be hard to find out information on its story

Oh yeah and the farthest thing in the timeline is going to be Chapter X of Conker Live and Reloaded since it's set 200 years after Live and Reloaded

If Yoshi's Island is gonna be listed as a crossover because it has Mario in the title then shouldn't Mario Is Missing be one as well by that logic?

Yoshi's Island is a crossover because its name implies it's both a Yoshi game and a Mario game. Mario is Missing!'s name just implies Mario is missing

Alright.

Btw for the SimCity games do you think you could add a "start" and "end" for the earliest and latest years possible in the game? Iirc SNES starts in 1900 and ends in 9999

SimCity 64 starts in 2000 and idk when it ends
