Anyone Computer Savvy?

Re: Anyone Computer Savy?

Go to view , then toolbars , see if address bar and others are ticked.

If not then tick them. If they are untick them and then re-tick them in a different order (that happened to me back when I used IE and that's how I fixed it.

or

right click on your toolbar uncheck "lock toolbar" and then put your mouse under it and drag the toolbar down as the one you want maybe hidden behind them

hope this helps

Re: Anyone Computer Savy?

Internet Explorer.

You are asking for trouble. Seriously. The security and safety on IE is non-existent.

Even if you don't like Firefox, there are several other browsers which offer much better security.

Re: Anyone Computer Savy?

When I used Internet Explorer, I always woke up with weird rashes. I switched to Mozilla Firefox, and now I'm rash-free.

I use Internet Explorer and the only rashes I have are the ones I got from my transsexual hooker girlfriend "Lola".

Re: Anyone Computer Savy?

So I'm trying to edit a wiki page (not on wikipedia) but everytime I hit anything on my keyboard a window pops up from Internet Explorer asking if I want to allow this page to paste information from my clipboard.

If I hit yes or no or just close the window it pops up the next time I hit a key anyway. Every single time. It's so effing frustrating. What the hell man?

Re: Anyone Computer Savy?

Okay here's my computer problem. I usually use Ad-aware to check for viruses or whatever, but now when I use it, it detects a file, called Win32.Trojan.Download or something along those lines. And the file is in the system32 folder. Now once ad aware detects it I will get the blue screen of death. So now I can't use Ad aware and I tried deleting the file directly but it says it's currently in use. So what the hell do I do?

Do a scan with HijackThis! and post the log here. I can help then.

After this I suggest that you download MoveOnBoot, install it and use it to delete C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\ (and everything in it), C:\Documents and Settings\Michael Weiss\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\8TMRG5ER\WinFixer2005ScannerInst all[1].exe and the Win32.Trojan.Download thing in the system32 folder.
You do that by adding them into the program and then reboot you computer.

Hopefully that will be all.

Re: Anyone Computer Savy?

Ultimate Warrior is the ****ing man!

Just one more thing, I use Firefox now but I'll still get internet explorer pop ups now and than.

Re: Anyone Computer Savy?

Do you have anything like "CiD Help" in your Add/Remove program list? In that case uninstall it. If you STILL get unwanted pop-ups (that is not generated by the site you are visiting) post a new HijackThis! log. Some new stuff might have been added to your computer in between the last log was posted and you deleted the things in the list.

I can also recommend this site or this site if you want to avoid sites that install spyware and adware on your computer.

Re: Anyone Computer Savy?

Here's one for Warrior (or anyone who knows, but most likely Warrior since he is our computer guru).

Is there any way to strip the DRM off of songs downloaded on either Napster or Yahoo Music subscription services? Someone asked me about it and I didn't know; they told me that both services have removed the ability to burn downloaded songs to CD.
