I love the Arkham games, so much that I decided to make a timeline of them. The games will be in orange and bold text. The comic series like the Arkham City prequel will be in green text and bold. The animated movie 'Assault On Arkham' will be in red text. Timestamps and page numbers will not be in bold text. The dates will be based on Years by Batman. Anything before will be YBB (Years Before Batman). I have used the digital version of 'Arkham City: End Game' and the 'Arkham Unhinged' comic series for this.

Feel free to consult me in the comments if you notice any placement issues!

Timeline
'Initiation' DLC has Bruce Wayne training with The League Of Shadows.

'Arkham Origins' Trailer is set on December of 2013, as seen on a calendar lying on a table.

'Arkham Origins' is set on Christmas Eve and Vicki Vale claims Batman has been fighting crime for two years.

'Cold, Cold Heart' DLC is set on New Year's Eve of the same year.

'Blackgate' is set three months after 'Origins' setting it in late March, and then two weeks after that, setting it in April.

'Arkham Underworld' is set after 'Assault On Arkham', Waller mentions Deadshot failing to kill her.

'A Matter Of Family' DLC is set Valentine's Day shortly before 'Asylum'.

'Road To Arkham' takes places immediately before 'Asylum'.

'Arkham Asylum' is set two months after Joker's last escape.

'Arkham City Lockdown' is set six months after 'Asylum'.

'Welcome To The Slough Of Despond' starts fourteen months after 'Asylum', on 14th July, and ends on Arkham City's opening ceremony. Batman has been friends with Gordon for 7 - 8 years.

Arkham City opens on 19th November based on a plague seen by the entrance in the game. The Arkham City Story 'Open For Business' claims its been eighteen months since 'Asylum'.

'Eviction Notice 3' is 24 hours before Wayne is arrested.

'Arkham City' is in the winter, before Christmas.

A calendar outside Julian's cell has highlighted dates of holidays. November 26th is highlighted which i assume to be Thanksgiving as no other day in November is highlighted. Possible years, adding on evidence from 'Origins' trailer for this date would be 2020 or 2026.

'Harley Quinn's Revenge' DLC is set twelve days after 'City'. Robin rescues Batman two days after that.

'Death Of A Rival' and 'End Game' is set after 'HQ', and features Joker's cremation.

'Harley Quinn Story Pack' DLC is set hours before Scarecrow's meeting.

'Arkham VR' is the nightmare Bruce has the day before Scarecrow's attack.

'Arkham Knight' is nine months after Joker's cremation and set on Halloween.

'Catwoman's Revenge' DLC is set the day after 'Knight'.

'Red Hood Story Pack' DLC is set after 'Knight'.

'GCPD Lockdown' DLC is set during Tim and Barbara's honeymoon, the year after 'Knight'.

'Flip Of A Coin' DLC is set after Tim and Barbara's honeymoon, the year after 'Knight'.

'Suicide Squad - Kill The Justice League' is set at some point in The Arkham Series; 'Gotham Knights' is most likely in an alternate universe.

I wonder if the rumoured Batman (Suicide Squad?) game will be apart of this continuity. Arkham Orgins did tease the Suicide Squad, but that may have been for the animated movie.

I believe they did tease the movie because it was released the year after Origins. There are two games rumoured to be announced 22nd August. One of them may be (i really hope) part of the Arkham continuity.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is in the Arkhamverse, but... Deadshot did a Michael Jackson? Is that a new character? What's going on?

If Gotham Knights were in the Arkhamverse, Red Hood, Batgirl and Mr Freeze can't co-exist, so it surely isn't.

I assume SS:KTJL would be a post-Arkham world, but King Shark and Captain Boomerang are both dead so it must be before 'Assault On Arkham', and as you said Deadshot is white. The scene with Will Arnett afterwards had Floyd Lawton on his prison board thing, so it can't be a different Deadshot.
With Gotham Knights, maybe Bruce created some sort of suit to allow Barbara to walk, a bit like War Machine in Avengers, and the fact that Bruce is dead makes sense for that also to be post-Arkham. Mr Freeze to me also doesn't make much sense.

Alternative theory: it's very likely the Flash is in the game, because he's mentioned in the Will Arnett scene. It'd take Rocksteady one brief dialogue exchange to explain away all the discrepancies: "Didn't you used to be white?" "Didn't you used to be dead?" "Grr... the kid's been messing with the timelines again!"

All the media outlets are reporting that Gotham Knights is non-Arkhamverse, though, which seems like a strange decision given how closely it aligns with the end of Arkham Knight. But it's WB, so who knows, they make strange decisions sometimes. I reckon those similarities come from the original idea for it to be a post-Arkham Damian Wayne game, and when it was scrapped and repurposed into Gotham Knights, the Arkhamverse setting was removed but the similar plot points remained.

It's most likely Flashpoint or Crisis On Infinite Earth's if it's to do with The Flash. It would occur about the same time for Crisis.

Some promotional material for Suicide Squad included a poster of Batman simular to the one of Superman, meaning if he will appear in the game, it's pre-Arkham Knight. Certain easter eggs I've noticed in the trailer to do with Arkham is:

- North Refrigeration billboards, Penguin's fake company for smuggling firearms, meaning it is after Arkham City.
- A symbol is spray-painted of the bat logo with Joker's smile on the bottom half, symbolising their mental connection in Arkham Knight.
- a kiddie-ride 'Arkham Asylum' Batmobile can be seen when Deadshot is burning the Brainiac minions, meaning this is any time after Origins, when Bruce constructed it.

On continuity:
Pahaps Hush, or any other face-altering character, surgically altered Deadshot's face so that he can remain anonymous to law enforcement. Hopefully they give us an official answer.

Technically speaking, Batman could appear in it post-Arkham Knight, only he wouldn't be Bruce Wayne, instead a fear-wielding nightmare. Something tells me that's not going to happen, though.

That's assuming Bruce actually died at the end of Arkham Knight, which I personally don't believe for a second - of *course* it was just an attempt to get the press/police/government off his back once his cover was blown. No reason Rocksteady couldn't come up with a reason for him to put the cowl back on in the years since - perhaps to help in the fight against Brainiac?

I probably could have worded that better.

I believe he is Bruce Wayne, just that he isn't Bruce anymore. Bruce is gone, the Batman is all that's left. A backwards version of The Dark Knight Rises.
He's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a Fear Toxin Dark Knight... Thing.

What about any other cinematic trailers? City I agree with, but the one with Knight I believe was purely promotional.
If it adds something to the story and overall narrative, or fits into continuity neatly with barely any fuss, I don't see why it wouldn't be.

Hell, add Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's reveal into the timeline temporarily too.

Added audio tapes and Patient Interviews.

Might make an alternative timeline with the City Stories unlocked in Riddles, because many times they contradict comics.

Maybe I'll add a timeline with comics and animated movies from other continuities that are referenced in these games like "The Killing Joke" or "The Long Halloween".
