DC Extended Universe / DC Universe - Timeline

I have this idea too, might never happen but would be a way to bring back Keith Smith / Captain Triumph:

Ultraman lands on Earth-X. Gets experimented on but gains newfound intelligence and wipes out all the Not-sees...then rules the world himself under a Crime Syndicate, which Keith joins (among others).

And it turns out to be Earth-3 / X, not Earth-2 / X, they skipped over one conveniently that I think is the new post-Flashpoint Earth-2 (the DCEU).

It's kinda cool how the DC Extended Universe name was a fan-coined term but it turned out to be extremely accurate as an adjacent/non-canon/branched version of the DC Universe retroactively. Clearly a separate Earth but has and might still have certain plot elements carried over like Darkseid or Mr Mind in the future.

An extended version, you could say.
First used by EW in 2015 then officially when HBO Max launched in 2020.

I actually think the "Earth-X" reality can easily fit many purposes, so that makes sense. Also, DCEU as a new Earth-2, if you take it as a Flashpoint multiverse rearrangement, fits pretty well.

Don't take this as me dissing Lanterns, but Antaan guy in the trailer, that may or may not be Atrocitus in a human disguise, is reminding of the bounty hunters that may or may not be Rann insurgents affected by Nth Metal (post-Rann/Thanagar War) from CW's Naomi.

There's no connection. Just reminded of it.

So I'm thinking...did Gunn confirm if Lanterns is set after Peacemaker and Superman?
Hal in the trailer made mention that he is the only human Lantern, and Guy is supposed to play some kind of role in this show in spite of that...what if it's set years ago? Like 2022?

This Horse Expo sign is from November 4th to the 6th. Expos occur over a weekend, that matches 2022 for Nov. 4-6 being weekend dates.
Thoughts?

I'd imagine that's something alone the lines of Hal throwing some shade at Guy? IDK

If this is true then The Suicide Squad has to happen in either November or December of that year since you have it in 2022 on the DCU timeline I think. Since Peacemaker knew Green Lantern before the events of Peacemaker s1 since he's mentioned in the Recap, and Peacemaker only just left the hospital in peacemaker s1 and he was there since TSS meaning he met Guy GL before TSS in this universe

So

November 2022- Lanterns, Guy becomes GL possibly during the show since he has a role
November or December 2022- retconned version of The Suicide Squad occurs

Or I suppose another possibility is the expo flier is promoting an event a few months in advance, who knows maybe the actual show will give us a more precise date

definitely been thinking this is more and more likely, here's some stuff i found:

https://www.superherohype.com/news/636458-green-lanterns-plot-series-timeline-tv-show

"Our story takes place in a couple of different time periods, and so the challenge was for the characters be consistent at their core." - showrunner chris mundy

although there will be flashbacks to johns parents so this might just be referring to that

Interesting that Lanterns is set before Supergirl.

yes i actually meant to note that that post from gunn is from may 2025, when im sure they were assuming lanterns was set to release early 2026, before supergirl; if asked again now he may list them in their current release order

I don't think that would change when the show and film are set despite the release order change.

The big surprise to me on that - it's at the actual Warner Bros studio. I took the tour back in 2003. Since than they have build a full museum. But I think this is their first full theme park like attraction. Or am I wrong? Normally you would see something like this at Six Flags. I wonder how long this will last though?

Has Gunn commented on if this is in any way Canon? I find it hard to believe it is. Can't imagine introducing Darkseid this way and being consistent in movies and tv shows. I am really curious to see what design they use for the Phantom Zone projector.

In fact I am very interested how Supergirl presents Krypton. Superman's Fortress is directly inspired by Donner films crystal design. But how far will they continue that? It's kind of vague how that Fortress was built. He was not interacting with Jor-El like in 1978 movie. Similar questions on the S symbol and red, blue, and yellow suits. We have YET to see anyone on this Krypton wear that symbol. Neither Jor-El or Zor-El. But both Kal-El and Kara wear matching suits.

Didn't like the bobblehead Darkseid.

I did like he had the volcanic aura in his mouth and eyes like the DCEU Darkseid (who is essentially the same Darkseid.)
