Venom's a dumb character. Eddie Brock has no real reason to hate Spider-man..."I hate him because he got better pictures than I did". That's the worst Supervillain motive ever. It's even worse when he plays the "misunderstood hero" role. He's like the Wolverine of Spider-man comics.

but venom = Eddie Brock + alien suit.

Where as that might be Eddie Brock's reason the suit has a love for Peter so to speak and is rejected and cast aside.

Now not trying to change yoour mind on Venom just saying that's not his only motive and the alien posses him fully so the combined hate creates venom.

I'd have to know everything I could about the person before I could.

The thing with me is, I want superpowers not for the glory or the fun, but simply so I can save lived and do good.

The glory/fun is more like a side-effect. An extremely enticing, vital side-effect, yes, but it plays second fiddle to the practicality of it and the oppourtunity to do good.

Bottom line, I would kill someone to get the powers if I could somehow find out that they were doing more harm than good alive, because then it would be just plain irresponsible to let them live at the cost of the thousands you could save with superpowers.
