PANEL 2: The camera pulls back and we see the building from farther away.

PANEL 3: The camera pulls back very far, and a slight reflection hangs over the scene.

PANEL 1: The camera pulls back to reveal the truth: the building sits in a snowglobe, shaken and swirling. It rests in a pair of small hands.

PANEL 2: The camera pulls back more to reveal a small autistic boy shaking the snowglobe.

PANEL 3: We see his parents watching him.

MOTHER: What's he doing?

FATHER(1): The same thing he does every day.
FATHER(2): He just sits there and looks at that snowglobe.

PANEL 4: The boy places the snowglobe on a coffee table.

PANEL 5: The globe stands there and the snow settles.

You know, this was a terrible way to end St. Elsewhere's but it fits so perfectly with UIM.

The final scene of the miniseries runs like this.

Running series of panels, Tony talking to his secretary about his meeting with Nick Fury the final panel being a closeup of his black tie.

Next page, next panel sequence we slowly pull out from the black that is Tony's pupil. He and Thor are sitting in Tony's Mansion wearing tie-dye shirts and jeans and watching 2001.

Tony turns to Thor and says, "WHERE did you get this acid again?"

Thor smiles and the series ends.

Works for me.

That's because he was TOLD to do it.

Card is worse for not doing proper research if any at all. And to say that Card's writing can be fixed but no Claremont is absurd because it can be fixed as well.


That said, I also hated the retconned story. Thank you very much.
