True, though we're still far enough out from the series debut and that bit of information is vague enough that there are a few other possibilities:

1. EoW turns out not to be in the MCU after all, as was the case for Spider-Man: Freshman Year.

2. This Iron Fist is pre-Danny Rand, since the concept seems to be that it will feature warriors throughout history.

3. Maybe Colleen and/or Danny will appear in animated from to pass the torch to the new character. (Not likely, but it'd be easier to arrange in animation.)

yes i think 2 is the most likely, i was referring to the fact that they attempted to cast jessica henwick for an unrelated role in shang-chi which she declined in favor of matrix 4, i actually think this is good as even if they chose to not reference danny or Colleen specifically in the future at least it wasn't necessarily overridden, although the same could be said for ali as cottonmouth and blade now that i think about it..
 
There are SO many occurrences of actors portraying multiple roles in the same fictional universe, not just the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Off the top of my head:

Earth-789 (Thomas Wayne in Superman: The Movie)

The opening scene is definitely fantasy and just a story told via Choctaw tradition. No need to time stamp it, unless they decide later on in the series to make it real.

That jump to reality in the same opening scene is set in 2007.
