The dialogue sucks. Peter just says "Meh." a lot.

I hate Bendis's multiple exclamation marks. Yeah, we know they're shouting if you're using one, so if you use five, it must mean they're incredibly loud.
 
Well. . .it looks vaguely more interesting than the first issue, which isn't saying much. We'll see. . .

For the most part I like Land's art on UFF......but now, he's just like Bagley---all their stuff looks the same. Yawn.


I am completely underwhelmed at this huge crossover. I swear---if it weren't for STELLAR comics like Fell, Fables, Ex Machina, Y, Punisher MAX and a few others, I'd seriously contemplate dropping comics again.

At least there's Vertigo.

So...Kitty's not Shadowcat? I thought...she was since like...Return of the King. In fact during the current UXM arc Cable calls her "Shadowcat". This is in the future, and Kitty's still in her X-Man uniform...

Am I missing something? Or is this another Bendis **** up.

And, I know Reed's a genius, but I didn't know that a few words uttered in the heat of a sudden surprise attack gave him enough time to reference all the languages ever spoken on the planet and deduce that it's not "one spoken on this planet."

No doubt this will lead to Reed making a crap plot device "translator" which no one has ever taken seriously. More crap science! YAY!


Over all, not impressed. I still don't see how Spidey or the X-Men can be in this. I understand the FF and Ultimates. I could maybe understand needing more help and Fury calling in Wolverine. But not Spidey or the X-Men proper.

The X-Men hate the Ultimates, no way would the Ultimates call in their help. And no way would the X-Men WANT to help the Ultimates.

But the Supremes vs FF and Ultimates...Ultimates win easy enough. No need for a teenager or the mutant team.

Seems senseless, but I was against this mini since I heard about it. I don't like having cross overs of universes. I don't care if this is an updated retelling of a classic Avengers issue. That was one issue, this is NINE ISSUES! And it's not a story that's worth telling.

OOOO ANOTHER hero team vs hero team, only to part like friends after teaming up against what here has to be the Serpent Sociality.

This is a waste of paper and ink, and ruining the future of the books, that now have to keep up the status quo at least until after Ultimates 3 is done.

Yeah, thanks for that Bendis and company. I thought the Ultimate line would give writers freedom from having to see where their characters, unlike like X-Men in 616 which have to keep a vague continuity with each other. I thought this was supposed to be more streamlined than 616?

I hate this mini, so, so, so, so, so much.
 
Well after the Liberators attacking the US, you gotta have that Unity mentality. So maybe the xmen would help the ultimates.
 
This already sucked.
If there is a God, he will force Marvel to cancel this mini before it gets too out-of-control.
Land's art of Kitty is just horribly underwhelming. And that shameless upskirt.

Well, for those of you who were hoping that Peter broke up with Kitty in 105, this seems to be bad news, since this is placed after Ultimates vol. 3, which is after the Clone Saga, I believe.

Well, too bad for MJ I guess. Of course it could be a continuity error as well, which is not unexpected.

I don't know. It seems pretty "meh" to me. I'm getting it, but if I were you I'd tradewait because so far it seems like the same old crap in a fancy new package.

Kitty looks great and you're only mad about her and the skirt because it's not Nico. :p


And since this is taking place after Ultimates 3....does that mean Peter and Kitty will still be together?

It was much better as Supreme Power. Right now, it's basically a mediocre JLA. If you're a completist, trade/HC wait it. Otherwise, skip it.

That seems to be the general consensus, but who knows what Bendis intended.

I only read his Ultimate stuff, and that's only because I'm a completest. "The whole story" and all.
