Then why does Ash not recognize Red Sonja or Vampirella?Evil Dead explicitly deals with alternate timelines. I'd just see it like that. Not main timeline, but alternate timeline sure.

I just feel weird about DieNamite because it's very explicitly meant to be its own thing separate from all previous continuity but sure I guess.A timeline change in the Dynamite primary universe had Ash forget he was even the Chosen One, so it's not that unbelievable.
I mean, really, Dynamite Comics in general mess things up. You have two Herbert Wests and you either have to assume that timeline changes early on caused the latter Dynamite portrayal to become the movie version or there's just... two versions. It'd be cleaner if most of Dynamite was just it's own thing. They can't even keep consistency with themselves, like when they suggest multiple different sequels to Army of Darkness are the same continuity despite them having wildly different events and placements.
But then, Hack/Slash crosses over with other Earth-818793 comic characters so it's all just a mess. Die!Namite contradicts things, sure... but they all contradict each other.![]()
A lot of Dynamite comics are supposed to be separate from each other but end up getting referenced. It's all a mess.I just feel weird about DieNamite because it's very explicitly meant to be its own thing separate from all previous continuity but sure I guess.
Also that recent Red Sonja crossover confuses things further because Tim Seeley said it was an AOD Forever sequel but it doesn't work with the canon of the rest of the franchise because (Red Sonja doesn't recognize Ash for one) it ends with Ash and Sheila going to the present, and Red Sonja stayed behind to lead the world into a Utopia where nothing bad is around in the present day.
Regarding Army of Darkness: 1979.
- Issue 4 depicts flashbacks to the events of previous Army of Darkness comics, including Montezuma's Revenge, Ash Vs. The Classic Monsters, Ash Saves Obama, and Ash In Space. While Montezuma's Revenge and Ash vs. The Classic Monsters take place in the Earth-818793 continuity, Ash In Space took place in the Ash And The Army of Darkness continuity, and Ash Saves Obamawas it's own self-contained story.
- The solicitation for the first issue of this series also implied that this was a follow-up to the Die!Namite Lives event, though no such connection is ever acknowledged within the 1979 story or the Die!Namite Never Dies series.
Army of Darkness: 1979 actually connects to the other stories more than Die!Namite Lives, anyway.Regarding Army of Darkness: 1979.
Maybe it's set right after DieNamite but after Ash gets back to the main timeline thenArmy of Darkness: 1979 actually connects to the other stories more than Die!Namite Lives, anyway.
28 Days Later are NOT ZOMBIES!! They're still living, but merely infected with the Rage Virus. It mentions two Zombie incidents in England, Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days Later.
I think he knows that, but it's a valid example since it's zombie-esque. Part of the genre even though the technicality is that there's no real zombies.28 Days Later are NOT ZOMBIES!! They're still living, but merely infected with the Rage Virus.
Beyond that, the only other example I can think of is Cockneys vs. Zombies? IDK.
That's an easy one to rationalize too as it seems to have been localized to just the UK so no need to factor in an apocalypse level eventI think he knows that, but it's a valid example since it's zombie-esque. Part of the genre even though the technicality is that there's no real zombies.
28 Weeks Later, 28 Years Later... come on, the UK is not gonna just be off-limits for the whole Slasherverse now. It's too big. That's an easy one to rationalize too as it seems to have been localized to just the UK so no need to factor in an apocalypse level event
Well that is true I suppose. I wasn't thinking about the latest entry.28 Weeks Later, 28 Years Later... come on, the UK is not gonna just be off-limits for the whole Slasherverse now. It's too big.
Is the necronomicon one of the ones from the movies or no? If it isn't not a big deal since Jason X Death Moon confirmed there's 666 copies of the NecronomiconThe painting in Public Television of the Dead is of Knowby cabin. The bridge is destroyed, so, I guess if you want to place it in the same timeline, 1983 makes sense. It's after the bridge is destroyed in 1982, but still close to the 70s setting. At least, that's how I think about it.
There is statements placing it directly in the 1970s though...The painting in Public Television of the Dead is of Knowby cabin. Maybe it gets destroyed a lot lolThere is statements placing it directly in the 1970s though...But that's so clearly the bridge close to Knowby cabin destroyed.

How does Within the Woods work? Just separate characters having a bad time in the woods? It was the prototype for The Evil Dead right?Evil Dead Timeline (with adjacent media)
