A timeline change in the Dynamite primary universe had Ash forget he was even the Chosen One, so it's not that unbelievable.

I mean, really, Dynamite Comics in general mess things up. You have two Herbert Wests and you either have to assume that timeline changes early on caused the latter Dynamite portrayal to become the movie version or there's just... two versions. 😭 It'd be cleaner if most of Dynamite was just it's own thing. They can't even keep consistency with themselves, like when they suggest multiple different sequels to Army of Darkness are the same continuity despite them having wildly different events and placements.

But then, Hack/Slash crosses over with other Earth-818793 comic characters so it's all just a mess. Die!Namite contradicts things, sure... but they all contradict each other. 😭

I just feel weird about DieNamite because it's very explicitly meant to be its own thing separate from all previous continuity but sure I guess.

Also that recent Red Sonja crossover confuses things further because Tim Seeley said it was an AOD Forever sequel but it doesn't work with the canon of the rest of the franchise because (Red Sonja doesn't recognize Ash for one) it ends with Ash and Sheila going to the present, and Red Sonja stayed behind to lead the world into a Utopia where nothing bad is around in the present day.

A lot of Dynamite comics are supposed to be separate from each other but end up getting referenced. It's all a mess.

I'm fine with DieNamite (and Army of Darkness 1979 which is a sequel to it) being included then I guess as long as it's listed as an alternate timeline, because there's definitely no way it could be the main timeline lol with the zombie apocalypse worldwide and all

Regarding Army of Darkness: 1979.

28 Days Later are NOT ZOMBIES!! They're still living, but merely infected with the Rage Virus.

Beyond that, the only other example I can think of is Cockneys vs. Zombies? IDK.
I think he knows that, but it's a valid example since it's zombie-esque. Part of the genre even though the technicality is that there's no real zombies.

That's an easy one to rationalize too as it seems to have been localized to just the UK so no need to factor in an apocalypse level event

The painting in Public Television of the Dead is of Knowby cabin. The bridge is destroyed, so, I guess if you want to place it in the same timeline, 1983 makes sense. It's after the bridge is destroyed in 1982, but still close to the 70s setting. At least, that's how I think about it.

Is the necronomicon one of the ones from the movies or no? If it isn't not a big deal since Jason X Death Moon confirmed there's 666 copies of the Necronomicon

There is statements placing it directly in the 1970s though... 😭 But that's so clearly the bridge close to Knowby cabin destroyed.

How does Within the Woods work? Just separate characters having a bad time in the woods? It was the prototype for The Evil Dead right?
