"Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, The Boys series creator Kripke said that it still might be "a while" before The Boys: Mexico truly gets off the ground.

'They are still making the deal with the writer for the pilot,' he explained. 'He has an amazing pitch, and we all giggle and think about how fun it would be. But there are a lot of hurdles for that show before it's a real show. He's got to write an amazing pilot, he's probably got to write an amazing episode 2. I think he can and he will, but we're a while away from truly starting to drop in the Easter eggs and the setups and stuff.'"

So they're planning a sequel series in advance, and Vought is setting up shop in Mexico after the events of Season 5 I take it?
 
Also, poor Moriarty really messed up her face in this shot, Jesus. Girl looks like handsome Squidward.

I think this just shows you how important it is to not let your insecurities about your body eat you up inside. She needed to heal her mind, not her face.

I saw the actress for the first time in the Jessica Jones series. I really thought it was super beautiful there! It was a little sad for me to see his change. but I think she's still pretty anyway

And you can understand why I'm planning to drop this entire sh*tshow of a series. Doesn't help that the showrunner has publicly stated that he finds said situation "hilarious", especially as all the way back in Season 1, they treated Starlight's SA more seriously (double standards much, Eric?).

Not to mention the fact that they butchered Tek-Knight (one of the few actual good heroes in the comics) and made him much worse in the show.

God, if Season 4 is showing just how bad Eric is as a showrunner, I'm already dreading continuing with my Supernatural marathon. Haven't fully finished Season 1 yet, but well...

I still love the show very much, but I thought after that Tek Knight episode, more attention would be put on Hughie's mental decline and potential scar he received from that experience, yet the next episode barely, if at all touched on the subject.
I'm not sure an SA victim would be down to **** around so soon after an experience like that with his GF, lest in a more kinky way (Annie wearing the Starlight costume). I would not have cared if Kripke found the Hughie situation hillarious on it's own, but my concern is that it even reflects on the series that they thought nothing more of that situation, than just something everyone would go haha over and then discard the entire sexual assault part afterwards...
I thought the series was about dealing with heavy things like that, the entire Season 1-2 was about Hughie getting over her girlfriend being murdered and now we are supposed to think he gets over the assault part in less than an episode? smh....

Ayup. And to nobody's surprise, they don't even bring up the fact that Hughie was sexually assaulted in the prior two episodes. Oh, and that insufferable know-it-all b*tch Sage is back FFS.

Overall, a disappointing end to a Season that IMO went so far downhill, it pretty much began to show the cracks in both the show and Kripke's ability as a showrunner. I ain't even going to check the final Season, Gen V S2 or the planned Mexico spin-off out, because I'm pretty much done with it. I'll stick with the comics personally.
 
You think now that Butcher is no longer on borrowed time after giving the worm full control of his body that we could easily time jump a year later for the final season?
 
I was on board with spin-offs, but when the prequels get out of the drawer, you know it's milking time.
 
I think they have an opportunity to humanize Soldier Boy as a character some or at least give more depth (he's still gonna be a scumbag-extreme) but we'll see. Especially if he's the main character you can't make him a jokey ******* 100% of the time.

looks at how Kripke and the writers had Hughie being SA'd three episodes in a row and called it "hilarious" in interviews

Yeeeeah I don't think they're gonna learn.
 
nothing related to the timeline but I just woke up from a nap and I dreamed that all of us here were audiovisual producers and we were recording a new scene for the boys XD

Fact of the matter is the moments involving kids from that comic will NEVER happen onscreen.

Obscenity laws in other countries get even fictional works like A Serbian Film and Where the Dead Go To Die banned. In other words, it would jeopardize profit for the company who funds and produces the Crossed film.

Yeah, obviously anything with kids is gonna be off-screen or outright toned down.
 
Don't know... I really enjoyed the first 3 seasons, but this 4th one had me quit halfway through. it seemed to me that they are just trying to throw down the pit of darkness the 2 main characters, for the sake of getting audience. You know, the nastier-the more appealing equation... Been there, saw that. Already from the times of J.R. Ewing on Dallas...

That is exactly my point. The characters only got either dumber or vile (plus, most of the newer characters were either insufferable or unnecessary), the plot honestly didn't go anywhere in this season (which just felt like absolute padding and filler for the final season), the politics got a little bit too real, and overall, a lot of it just felt more... mean-spirited and hypocritical, especially when it came to Hughie being raped by both Tek-Knight and Ashley in the sixth episode, then repeatedly raped by the Shapeshifter in episodes seven and eight.
