The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Your Team

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

I thought I would bump this since it's such an awesome idea for a thread. And on that note I will start it off with a League of my own.

I don't know what would bring the entire League together but I assume that it would involve some alien invasion. I do know that time travel would be involved in a secondary tale, sending the team to 2084, or the 1984 universe which was predicted by George Orwell a hundred years early.

Agent J (Men In Black): The leader of the new League, he has since matured from his days as a rookie MIB. J would be something of a weapons specialist and know about the alien agenda that's plaguing the team. His look has updated a bit to that of Detective Spooner from I, Robot, maybe suggesting that J is an uncle or father of the character from the film.

James Bond (James Bond films): Bond would be forced to join the team because MI6 has bee tasked with providing their best man for the job. Bond wouldn't want to be there but would still excel compared to his less professional counterparts.

Hermione Granger (Harry Potter books): Hermione would be called to the League because of the recent disappearance of Harry Potter. She would be in her thirties now and would be one of the most accomplished wizards of her era.

Teddy Lupin (Harry Potter Epilogue): Aiding Hermoine in the search for his godfather, Teddy would be less experienced with magic than his 'aunt' and rely more on his shape-shifting and werewolf skills inherited from his parents. He'd be the smartass of the team and kind of irritates the elder members of the team.

Will Hunting (Good Will Hunting): Will's still kind of a jackass since the events of Good Will Hunting, but he's now working as an annalist for the US government and has thousands of secrets locked inside his brain. Will would act as the super brain for the League and tends to stay out of the action that the rest of his teammates get into.

Mutt Jones (Indiana Jones 4): He's in his sixties at this point, but his years of adventuring led him to an experience with the Holy Grail which makes him look about thirty five, and he now looks like his father, complete with fedora and whip. He'd essentially be the leader of the team alongside J and would clash with him for the role.

David Dunn (Unbreakable): The lead character from M. Night Shyamilan's film will now have matured and grown into his role as a superhero. He's now an urban legend who uses his vast strength and precognition as a hero and is pulled into the league in order to be the tank of the team. He's very calm and quiet compared to his teammates and doesn't say much until the battle starts.

Will Turner (Pirates of the Caribbean): Even though he doesn't come from the same time period as his teammates, Turner's just as young as he was in the Pirates films due to his role as the new Davey Jones. Turner would be the transportation for the team, providing the same capacity that Nemo did in the original League. Turner would of course join the team for the huge battle on land for his one time in ten years.

I would think that would be a good mixture of characters for a good potential story.

David Dunn is so good I'm frustrated I didn't think of him myself. If I had I would've used him immeadiately.

I started to write a big post here involving Indiana Jones, Bill Bixby David Banner, Unbreakable and the Phantom of the Paradise, but(since bluebeast pretty much nailed Dunn up there except for one idea I have that I now think might be too good to put out there here and I mgiht have to use for someother guy in someother team some time) the Phantom is like the only really original one and nobody would have any idea who or what I'm talking about with him.

I think the team needed a tank plus Dunn's going to be the ultimate everyman compared to his outragous teammates.

Here's one I've been thinking about for a while.

The League of Extraordinary Bad Asses

Jack Bauer - The Interrogate

James Bond - The Gentleman

Ethan Hunt - The Master of Disguise

Jason Bourne - The Assassin

Inidiana Jones - The Elderly Adventurer

Noah Bennet - The only one here so Heroes fanboys won't *****.

I just think this would make the most hilarious story ever, because these people would never get along let alone work together as a team. They are all alpha dogs. I really want to see how it would turn out.

I almost put Bourne on my team but then pondered the cosmic circumstances of having two Matt Damons with no Ben Afflecks or even a Silent Bob around so I just went with Will.

That's an awesome team.

Took me forever to find this  had search on Google with advanced search. (google spiders helped me :D)

Decided to make a Kids version of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. This means only using characters from children's literature! (not just using kids)

Mentor : Frank Hardy (The Hardy Boys)

A bitter old man Frank Hardy finds himself forced out retirement for one last case. Is it possible that the man the team is after could have been the killer of Joe Hardy, Franks little brother who's death made him retire from crime-solving

Witch : Sabrina Spellman (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch/Archie Comics)

Now a 25 year old master of witchcraft she has been brought in to the team in hopes that her magic can help them against a strange and unknown threat. The greatest witch of her generation is ready to help.

Undercover master : Wally/Waldo (Where's Wally? Where's Waldo?)

He is a master of blending in to a crowd. So much show finding him is impossible unless he wishes to be found. Could his ways be more supernatural than skill? Either way he bring the stealth to the team.

Ex-villain : Slappy the Dummy (Goosebumps)

Slappy was once an evil Dummy. But after much conflict he has reformed and with his doll like appearance he can help Wally/Waldo on his undercover mission with much hilarious witty banter between Wally/Waldo a reall good guy and Slappy a dummy with a darkside.

Monster Hunter : Little Red Riding Hood (Little Red Riding Hood)

After the events of the wolf eating her grandmother and trying to kill her we will find out in this story that SHE killed the wolf not a hunter. She now a deeply disturbed monster hunter living in the woods. She's 30 years old and still has her red hood but also a crossbow! Her skills inn fighting monsters will the demon out.

Giant : The BFG (The BFG)

The big friendly giant brings the height and the strength of a giant. This will come in handy in many missions this team embarks on. He will be a great asset to the team.

The villain: The Grinch. (The grinch who stole christmas)

He's back to his evil ways and is now a master criminal stealing anything he can not just christmas stuff. He is a deeply disturbed man who has green hair and his face horrible disfigured but no one knows how this came to be. Some suspect that he did it to himself after going crazy living in isolation (every villain needs a reason they look like they do)

He serves as the leagues main and most dangerous foe.

I now want a stealth game based off Waldo.

There's something similar for Carmen Sandiego. It's on College Humor, called "Where the **** is Carmen Sandiego?"

Brilliant!!

But man, what are the odds of seeing that today, along side the fact that while walking home from the comic shop, I see stickers of Waldo saying "Missing" all over!
