I challenge to whomever will rise to it to create their 100 Greatest Movies List. In Order. No saying that you "don't know how to rank them"... And unlike the AFI deal that's popping up on the boards, this is more than just American Movies. Spanish, Italian, Japanese... Anything goes.

I am working on my list AS WE SPEAK!!! And my updated top ten list remains, although I think I'm going to move Miller's Crossing a little further down.

Exactly. These lists obviously won't be static... I suspect that I'll put together a list and remember a movie a week later that ought to be in the top 25...

Im also not allowing myself to put in anything from 2007, so that I can think through those movies before I place them.

I'm totally down for this. It's MUCH harder for me to make a smaller list than a larger one.

The only 2007 release that'll be on my list will be Zodiac, having already seen it twice.

I've used Wiki's pretty decent movies by year lists to start doing this. I worked my way back from 2007 and I'm on 1998 now and already have over 100 movies, though. Lot of comedies, too.

Great list, DSF! I'm glad there's at least two other Hook fans that I know of now on UC, Planet-Man being the other one, I think.

I don't see what all the fuss is about over Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, however. That and I think American Beauty and Forrest Gump are overrated.

Most of the films that we share that are in your 100-50 area would be in my 30-1 area.

I'm still a bit stunned to see you put Addam's Family Values ahead of The Incredibles and 12 Monkeys.

This is going to be tough. I think I'll wait until the end of the summer to do mine, because there are a bunch of films I really want to see that are on your list, and a bunch of others that aren't.

Wait, Addams Family Values?!?! I'm sorry, but that was on TV a few weeks ago, and after watching the first 10 minutes of it, I had to shut it off for fear of going brain-dead. It was mind-numbingly awful!

:shock: That's a late night mistake... I'm gonna fix that RIGHT now.

But its still a damn good movie... I hope djf is thinking of Addam's Family Reunion which makes me want to set my hair on fire... but the original is one of my favorite movies...

(I meant to swap it with Hook, but forgot, now Hook is 45 and AFV is 85)

But then again, anyone who dislikes Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a Skrull.

He doesn't like 20th Century Fox and he refuses to see movies they put out even if everybody else tells him how good they are.

Here is my list. As it was top I assume greatest. So some even though I love them did not make the cut. E,g Spider-man III I love BUT if you had not seen 1+2 and saw it as a stand alone movie it's no where as near as good.

So I looked at my list purely on a film maker point of view for the most part and not on Favourites (My actual favourite movie is on list but not even in my top 50 in terms of the film making it's self.)
