(coming soon)

As Project reminded me, I still need to finish my list. I will start from the beginning with a revised edition in August when the new Maltin movie book comes out. (That's how I compiled the first draft.) My list will definitely come to over 100, though, so think of it as ultimatedjf's 1,001 Movies To See Before You Die. Even though it will probably be closer to 301 or 401.

I'm still trying to compile a list. It's so hard.

I would like to point out that I am posting this exactly four years after I first compiled a list of 100 movies. Almost to the day... I think I'm a little early. I was going to wait until after midnight to make it exact, but I have work in the morning. July 12th, 2007... If I waited up past 3AM it would be dead on.

This isn't definitive by any means, and reflects how I feel right this moment. Watching some of these films again might knock them down or pull them up the list... And I'm sure a handful of my all-time favorites have simply slipped my mind entirely.

But here we go:

1. The Rules of the Game
2. The Silence of the Lambs
3. Chinatown

I have seen 73 out of your 105 films (you cheater!) but the rest are on my to-watch list. Nice list.

Just realized I left "The Thing" off that list, and dropped it in at #50, knocking off "Finding Nemo" (decided to keep "The Invisible Man" on there)... Not sure if that helps or hurts you. Heh.

I have seen 77 of those. Also, since the last time we talked personal Top 100s, how did you go about determining these?

As for me, I'm going through the Maltin 2012 book of almost every movie. I've written down all the ones I've seen in the A through Ms, and have a total of about 700 so far. Unfortunately the ones I have asterisked, meaning they are favorites of mine, are already well over 100. I'm going to do N through Z and then start on the whittling down process. If I get lazy I'll just post a Top 250.
