I guess no one cared to comment on this issue.... sigh.

Anyway, here's the synopsis:

Reed, Ben and Johnny are now in Siberia and finds the plane wreckage. While investigating the site for any proof of Sue's location, the Crimson Dynamo attacks. For continuity freaks, Reed says this is the original Crimson Dynamo and is 1980s tech. Dynamo holds himself pretty well before Reed's Seven-Ten Split knocks him out with an EMP. Dynamo surrenders and gives out the info and even escorts them to Ivan's base.

Meanwhile we finally find out Ivan's motive for capturing Sue. They have finally discovered some way of controlling the phase shifts of the N-Zone and he is planning to phase shift his dead wife with Sue in hopes of reviving her. Dr. Rutskaya (the Russian chick with the big glove) though has other plans and stabs Ivan, apparently killing him. She plans to gain Sue's abilities and use it for some terrorist stuff which pretty much makes her a Black Widow rip-off. Sue eventually gets out of her funk and before the N-Zone thingy starts up, she manages to get out of the stretcher she is strapped in and knocks out some DNA of various animals Ivan has been experimenting which hits the thingy's beam along with Rutskaya.

Back to Reed and friends, Ivan's base has been alerted and a group of Mark II Dynamos are dispatched to face the remaining FF and the Crimson Dynamo. One of them looks like Titanium Man, the rest no idea.

Once again in the base, the chaos that ensued has left the lab in flames and Sue looks for Rutskaya. She finds what appears to be her lying under rubble but finds out that is only a suit. Rutskaya finally appears resembling some grotesque hodgepodge of baboons, bears and other animals asking "I am invisible now?" To be continued. I guess instead of the super-intelligent apes in the 616 version, this is their replacement.

3.5/5. Story's finally picking up and a decent cliffhanger.

I liked it a lot. I've been excited about this arc more than the previous ones, and I guess it's partly due to Brook's art, which I love.

This was okay. I like Brooks' art. Ferry was pretty, but kinda murky. His stuff looks better for UIMII.

What was the analogous 616 villain here?

I prefer Carey's more Earth-based story arcs than the ones that are on a cosmic scale. At least he kinda alternates between both storyline types.

Oh, and while the super-apes are intelligent, they're not Super-Humanite levels, but smarter than most humans still. They do have super powers in 616. I also doubt Kragoff is dead, they have to shoehorn Red Ghost's ability somewhere.

Stan Lee's done some drugs, hasn't he.

Story is picking up. I, however, still dont give a flying f**k about the UFF.

Are you guys all insane or do you just have low standards for comics? This issue was absolutely horrible. One look at that last page has set the quality of this title back farther than anything Jeph Loeb would've done. Seriously.

Straight and to the point. I havne't been able to read this since Millar left the second time.

Strike that. I read God War. It took a couple weeks, because it was so mind-numbingly boring. I picked up that and the next trade in Chicago, which I didn't read yet, am in no hurry to read, and don't even remember the title of.

Why even waste the money on the trade then? If you're so uninterested, why read the title at all?

I agree. Carey is very good at science fiction jargon and making it believable in a more realistic context, but Millar is the superior storyteller. Millar's 9-issue arc is still the highlight of UFF.

God War didn't do well to me either. I didn't care about all the new characters. If it was not for Thanos and the Cosmic Cube I would not have cared at all.

I really enjoyed it. I'm a very curious to who this new villain is.
The Red Ghost. Carey had given it away during some interviews a little while back.

I like Brooks' art, too. And the coloring sure helps.

Red Ghost
Gemini should know. He reads every Marvel title ever.

I'm sorry, but that's just really rude and uncalled for. Just because someone doesn't like something like you do or like/hate whatever at the same level, the other person has lower standards? WTF? Seriously? How about it's you that has maybe too high standards? Or even low standards for something you hate and I like? How about that?

But then again, I can't really be surprised seeing you say that.
