Re: IGN.com's preview of Ultimate Spider-Man #110

Nice nod to Cap America's death in 616. There's a huge reflection of the moon where Ronin's body is lying, possibly indicating that Moon Knight's isn't dead yet.

I hope they enforce the stay dead policy.

Woah.

Wait a minute... Am I reading the right title? Well, it was mailed to me...

The issue ACTUALLY kicked total ***. I would say it kicked so much *** that it reminded me of the days when I didn't hate this title. I had, like, before "Carnage" arc love for this issue.

I even knew I loved it within the first two pages.

It opens with a scene of two random hit men offing Ronin (Moon Knight). It was a perfect mob execution.

Then, we see Iron Fist telling Kingpin what happened and how Daredevil found out who sold him out to have his law firm blown up. It is written in a seamless flashback sequence that tied into the Kingpin and Iron Fist discussing this at a table. Awesome.

Following that, was the kicker of the issue. Daredevil wants to get back at Kingpin... So what does he do? Go in while Kingpin's wife is sleeping and threatens to strangle her when Kingpin bursts through the door. Spider-Man intervenes and prevents Daredevil from doing it. Daredevil bargains with Kingpin and they eventually reach an agreement that Kingpin must leave the country for good.

Just when I thought there was resolution to the story... It gets cooler yet! Turns out, Moon Knight survives the gun blast and makes his way to the police station (Where you see Ultimate Cloak and Dagger apprehended). He turns in the Kingpin...

...And ol' Wilson's behind bars!

He is made, though, telling his boy Rose to get the best of the best to take down Daredevil, Dr. Strange (*sigh* what DID he do to him, anyway?), and Spider-Man. I am hoping that this is the lead-in to the next "Death of a Goblin" arc.

Nice issue. 4/5.

Guys - remember that we don't do separate issue preview threads anymore. If there is an existing thread - preview or review or whatever - keep all posts in that thread and a mod will change the title of the thread.

Then we should stop posting previews... Or post all previews together. Reviews and previews are apples and oranges.

Not really the thread to get into this...

But post previews...there's nothing wrong with that. I just want all issue discussion to go in one thread.

Bendis talks USM #110 & more at CBR.

Following the “Death of a Goblin” storyline Peter's relationship with two other heroes takes center stage. “I'm so excited. The whole point of being on this book was to tell this story,” Bendis said. “It took me 120 issues but I've finally found a way to do ‘Ultimate Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.' Now that Kitty is at the school, there's a reason to have Iceman in the book that I'm not just pulling out of my ***. Now he would show up at the school to visit his old friend and girlfriend. We invent a new Firestar. Someone near and dear to the book debuts as Firestar and we get to have ‘Ultimate Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.' I'm telling you I have waited and waited to do this story and get all these pieces in a row so that everything fits organically.”

And I liked the little easter egg of Cloak & Dagger in this issue. Hehe. :)

...We need to talk about this issue.

It was actually awesome and we're not exactly on topic! :-D

Fist of teh Internets.
Read the issue. It was ok. Not bad---but definitely not a shining star.

I'm not undestanding how Ronin survived after being shot point blank in the head. And why Bendis is writing Daredevil to be this raving lunatic. Whatever---there's a lot of stuff I can't understand about this book.

Although I will say that afer WW---I'm so charmed by Bendis that I actually thought about actually buying the book.

We dont realy know what ultimate Moonknight's powers are. Wacky egyptian background? or some funky waterbending powers that get stronger when the moon is full?
