Uh... ok, not so great. The arc's gonna be great but this wasn't nearly as good as the last one and the fact that our guest doesn't show up really pissed me off.

Anyway, what did we have...

Starts off with the recap of Cyclop's relationship with Lorna as seen in the preview. Then we're faced with Lorna in her cell crying her eyes out and playing right into Magneto's arms. I think Lorna's a little too gullible for my likeing.

Next we're back with Alex & Company. Nightcrawler appears and they crash their car there's a little fight where Cyclops and Alex square off and Cyclops gets beat. Alex tells Northstar that Scott let him win. The others are captured (knocked out) and Havok and Northstar escape.

Forge and Mystique are in a police cruiser and see Northstar speed by. Mystique reveals the plan is going accordingly.

Scott is talking to Jean whose with Iceman and Colossus who tell them they'll be waiting for Northstar and Havok. Last page is a splash with The Ultimates saying something cheasy and there they are.

Pretty weak but I guess it serves as a filler and we know Vaughan's the man and the overall product will deliver. But focusing on the issue. Disappointed.

barely a 3 out of 5

Cap, Wasp, Black Widow, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver were the members on the last page.

I thought it was funny when Colossus got nervous that Northstar was coming and Jean replied "this isn't prom..."

Thanks!

so no guest hero, huh? I thought it would be Spider-Man or Rogue...maybe next issue.

This was a solid issue. Pretty typical mid-arc issue...good plot advancement; didn't feel like a filler like a lot of other mid-arc issues do sometimes.

Very cool seeing the Ultimate New Mutants in action - can't wait to see if Vaughan has anything in store for them.

My issue had a miscut page and I missed some dialogue...I think I got the gyst of it but I'm not sure...might have to ask someone to post it. I think it's just a couple lines. I'll have to look it up and see what page it was...

It's when Magneto and Lorna are having their heart to heart. I had the same problem.

Miscut? Wow, I really hope my issue in the mail isn't like that. We'll see, though. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the issue coming tomorrow.

Also, MWOF, I would assume that, if there is to be more Brotherhood mutants, Vaughan would use the ones in captivity along with Magneto. It would seem like the right thing to do, after all, this arc is rounding out both Bendis and Millar's run... I would hope we would even get to see Karma as well.

Why? You gotta let me know!
We already know why. Because they're genetically altered. Well, not Sinister but he's on "suicide watch ever since he tried swallowing his tongue." Best part about it was he kept saying like "he's coming" but he also added and interesting tidbit about a baby being born or something.... gonna be awesome!!! actually I'll raise Vaughan a point for it.

Baby being born?

Sinister saying that?

Mentioning Apocalypse ("He's coming")

I think of
Cable
but I somehow doubt it here.

Same here. But look at the bottom of that page- Magneto's arm still goes off the page, so it must be the letterers fault.

Also, I'm having a total brainfart. I didn't understand the prison scene. What is Deathstrike talking about? Who's Essex? I also didn't get some of the slangs that Fury was using which made for an altogether confusing scene. Oh, and we're supposed to assume that Mags knows about some of Emma's kids coming now (the car scene)? I just need a little clarification....

Also, BKV said he would wrap up things from his very first UXM page. That's that kid, right? The one that Nightcrawler met on the roof in #46?

Ok, if it sounds like I totally missed the point of everything in this issue, it's cuz I tried to read it in about 5 minutes. I had 3 Homework assignments to do in an hour, along with a bunch of other stuff (including babysitting). So once you respond, I might already have read the ish again (But maybe not).

I liked the issue except for the fight between Havok's group and the X-Men. The issue didn't seem like filler at all. I felt like the X-Men performed too weakly. I would have liked to see havok about to get his a** kicked and then get grabbed and saved by Northstar. I also don't understand why Jean wasn't on that team. No one in the car could have resisted a telapath. All she would have had to do was shut down their minds. The rest of the team could have put them in restraints and taken them into custody. I liked that scott didn't bring his A game when he fought Havok. By the way, who uses the terms "x-narc" and "the man?" Also, what would kitty making the rest of the passengers intangible have achieved?

I feel like they're under rating Longshots powers. He very well might be able to use his powers to make his cell malfunction. I wonder if the person who tipped the Ultimates off to his whereabouts has any significance. I liked seeing Lady Deathstrike and Sinister in the Triskellion. I wonder if they're going to have him working for Magneto. I imagine he's going to help in the break out, but then go continue to serve Apocalypse.

I'm pissed about the line getting cut off in print. I imagine it's the entire first printing. If anyone's copy has the line in top right corner panel of the Lorna/Magneto hug page please post it.

3 out of 5, 4 out of 5 if the fight had been better.

P.S. I liked the reference to Fenris Casinos in the background. It makes me think that Rogue is going to be the "familiar face" that appears in part 4.

Edit:Fury's trying way too hard to act black. Who says "illegally pimped their own rides"?????

I believe it would make sense if the brotherhood tipped them off. I'd would assume that. All part of "Magneto's plan".

Someone explain to me how Magneto was making plans in the most secure cell in the world.

bad news :(

Um... didn't the solicitations say another ultimate hero would make an appearance? I was so pumped for this and we got nothing.

Uh, did you get to the last page? There were actually SIX Ultimate heroes. More bang for your buck! :D

Straight from the source. The Ultimates were the guest appearance.

Let's talk about about Dazzler. I didn't read the letters page but over at the Cabal they're up in arms about someone saying something like "wait til you see what happens to Dazzler next issue." What do you thinks the deal? Besides the fact that Xavier is gonna toss her ***.
