Let it slip up and down your throat a few times to start with. If you gag doing so, don't worry. That's just a sign you're doing it right. Eventually you'll learn to control the reflex. This lines your throat with potassium and in doing so signals your body to prepare itself for a potassium lush, so it will be better equipped to more efficiently process the nutrients.

Then swallow it without chewing.

That's how I usually eat bananas.

I was taught well by your mum.

It burns calories, fat, and muscle!

If only it got rid of bone too.

I was serious in my question! Is it best to eat the banana straight after the exercise or what?

Chasing the dragon burns a lot of calories. Way better than a treadmill.

usually the next day or a few hours later, if you eat it right after you work out your body is just going to turn it into fuel and burn it, therefore making the potassium useless. protein and fast carbs are best after working out so that the muscles you have just worked can get plenty of nutrients.

D.O.M.S (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) sucks ass. 16 hrs later it hits. (which would happen to be now)

I went hiking in the Pyrenees 4 days. Nothing makes you lose weight like walking up and down a couple of mountains with 15 kilos of camping gear and 5 liters of water strapped to your back. And I was pretty slim to begin with, so I've nothing to be ashamed of when I go surfing.

How is everyone doing work-out wise?

After a 4 month gap I've finally started going to the gym again. Yay me!

I'm trying to get myself back into the gym. Luckily I jog to and play football every wednesday and go for walks almost every day, so I'm active, but not as active as I'd like. I need to be more flexible though. I really want to be able to touch my toes.

in order to keep my self motivated enough to keep going back into the gym. i decided to base my workouts on the boxing emphasis. and after 2 weeks of skipping rope, not jumping rope, skipping. it is one of the hardest things to do. maybe in another 2 weeks i'll be able to go 45 seconds without tripping.

So in a bid to break through my plateau that I haven't been able to get around for the past 8 months, I've decided to join my brother in some MMA training. We're gonna be checking some places out. One in particular offers Judo, BJJ, BBJ (no-gi) and kickboxing. The only thing that sucks is that it costs 130 for the all inclusive and about 80 bucks for just 1 art style. But you can't beat a free week.

Another place we're trying offers boxing, BJJ, kickboxing(with muay thai aspects) and submission wrestling with an upstairs gym and open mat on saturdays. All inclusive for $80 bucks. We're probably gonna go with this place for a year and then learn Judo from the place I mentioned before. Judo is the BJJ killer! It's an exciting time considering my job no longer allows me to get physical with inmates. Liberals, can't get rid of them, and you can't kill them because you'd be breaking the law. I lie, I just wanted a reason to say that.
