X-Men: Apocalypse movie (2016)

Re: X-Men: Apocalypse movie? (2016)

What's the most times an actor has played the same role in a series of movies? Not counting smaller parts like Q from the Bond series.

I'm thinking either Kirk or picard or Spock in star trek movies or ernest in all those ernest movies. Of course i could be wrong as they were in a lot

That's interesting. I hadn't heard that before. If I had to bet, I'd put money on Fox doing everything in their power to bring Jackman back, at least for one more. Considering this stands to be the biggest X-Men movie yet, I just don't see them letting the face of the X-Men franchise leave for this.

They should pull a trick like get him back but in film he gets de-aged to say 25 or something and is then a new actor

Well looks like I was right about DoFP featuring a post credits scene to Apocalypse:

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=91102

"The credits bumper jumps back to the past with a young Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) in a ramshackle house in the desert eating dinner, clearly on the run from all the authorities who want to bring him down. While using a well outside to get some water, the young Magneto sees something fall from the night sky and crash to Earth nearby. Upon inspecting the impact zone, he encounters what is described as an "alien form" who is "towering, terrifying, with a twisted metal face and dark pits for eyes." It's Apocalypse and he says, "I have crossed rivers of time to find you." Magneto asks, "Who are you?"

The alien responds, "I am your future." Suddenly Apocalypse merges with Magneto, who screams and blasts an insane amount of energy and shockwaves around him. This energy explosion levels everything around him, with a blast radius that goes for miles. As Magneto looks at what he's done, he has a realization of the power he now holds and a villainous grin begins to form before the film cuts to black."

Good God, I hope that's not true. They better not pull some **** were "Apocalypse" is simply a possessed Magneto.

That sounds kind of made up though.

If you read the article I linked to, the source is very reliable regarding their previous scoops. So I doubt it's made up.

That's true. Plus this does seem like the type of thing that Fox would do. I'm probably reading too much into a rumored description for a single post-credits scene, but I'm hoping for the X-Men and Magneto to fight an actual, physical Apocalypse. If it's just them fighting Magneto (albeit a possessed Magneto) for the umpteenth time I'll be a bit disappointed.

It could be Apocalypse only possesses Magneto early on, or jumps from mutant to mutant before gaining enough power to take his own form.

Josh Brolin shaved head and make-up mixed with the same size altering CGI they use for Ruffalo's Hulk...with Benedict Cumberbatch doing voiceover....

I love Benny Cumbersnatch, but JEJ would totally be a perfect, deep voiced fit for Apocalypse, without requiring a bunch of audio tweaking like was done for Benny's voice for Smaug in the new Hobbit film.

I don't even see the need to bring in a big name actor for Apocalypse other than as a voice. Though I suppose since it's all the rage to use big name actors for motion capture performances they'll go that route. I still want James Earl Jones to voice Apocalypse. Or Paul Reubens.

Javier Bardem kind of looks like Apocalypse...

Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" Delves Into "Mutant Origins" "X-Men: Apocalypse" producer and co-writer Bryan Singer teased the core mission statement of the upcoming film, which includes "mutant origins."

Just hope they do Apocalypse right. In other words, I really, really hope they don't pull a Fantastic Four - Rise of the Silver Surfer "Galactus" cloud on a smaller scale with Apocalypse (where he "infects" or "possesses" different mutants as some sentient disease/virus).

Again it's all rumor, so I'm being patient. DoFP looks like it'll be great, and Apocalypse could be as well as long as they get him/it right. I'm thinking it'll obviously have a smaller cast than DoFP, reportedly focusing on the First Class era mutants in Apocalypse. Wondering if that means we may see a 1980's era X-Men, heavily influenced by Claremont's run, as the setting. That'd be fun. May even serve as a way to introduce a character or two from X-Force before their supposed own film.

Still waiting to hear some news about the Fantastic Four reboot. I wouldn't be bummed if the rights went back to Marvel. :)
