Public perception would be very different to that of “mutants”. Think of it from their perspective. Someone can move objects with their mind, and a blue woman who killed, then seemingly vanished. My first thought wouldn’t be “Evolution has caused there to be a gene that can make people do things that have a massive range, despite only being one gene and not numerous”

For most of the 20th century, to major public, mutants were seen as extremely rare, maybe around 0.1% of the population and their appearances were treated as unusual, one-off cases rather than a broader trend.

From the 1970s through the 2000s, mutant incidents were mostly small-scale and localized, reinforcing the idea that mutants were anomalies, not a political issue. By the 2000s, however, mutant powers began appearing more frequently and more publicly. This shift led politicians like Robert Kelly to reframe mutants as a growing, unpredictable population rather than rare individuals.

In X1, what’s new isn’t the existence of mutants, but the fear that they’re no longer rare, controllable, or safely hidden. That's why just in 2000s comes The Mutant Registration Act.

I was think, what you guys think makes Erik split up his friendship with Charles again?, he was with him recruting Jean, which is when school reopen, after get closed in 1965-1966, due to Vietnam War.

I think it's because Charles didn't wanted Jean to have full access of her powers/Phoenix. So he leaves X-Mansion.


My Erik/Magneto's Original Timeline is like this:

1977 - Erik is released from prison, when the state learns that he is innocent of didn’t kill JFK. Charles and Erik makes amends, returning their friendship. Charles, with Hank and Erik, built the Cerebro of original trilogy.

1978 - Xavier reopen school. Charles and Erik visit Grey's residence. Jean Grey joins school. Xavier and Erik have a discussion about Jean's powers. Erik decides to leave, to not get involved in school, but not leaving on bad terms with Charles, Erik lives as normal civilian. Same year, Mystique escapes Trask Industries custody, Charles and Raven sibling relationship ended.

1980s-1990s - Anti-Mutant movement increse, this cause Erik to returning to be Magneto, then he reforms Brotherhood of Mutants, with Mystique, Sabretooth and Toad. With this, Xavier restart The X-Men, with Scott, Jean, Storm, and Beast, to faced then. Erik acting behind the scenes, instead in field.

Prior-X1 - Robert Kelly have a idea to proposed ''The Mutant Registration Act''.

2002 or 2003 - X1 events.

2003 - X2: X-Men United events.

2006 - X-Men: The Last Stand events.

2015 - The Wolverine post-credits scene.

2023 - X-Men Days of Future Past's dark future.
