WTF?!

So Beaver raped Veronica at the party, after all? Makes sense for his character, I guess -- not as out-of-the-blue as the big revelation of the Lilly/Aaron affair from Season 1 -- and the actor who played him was convincingly menacing, but damn, that's such a downer. It made me feel the same way as reading the "Purple" arc from Bendis' Alias. It just seemed... gratuitous, even if it contributed to legitimate character development.

Oh well. Anybody else have thoughts about Season 2 (as a whole)?

Logan Ecchols is more bad-*** than Jack Bauer, Chuck Norris, and Mr. T, combined. No, really. He'd wipe the floor with that other Logan.

Personally, I thought Sheriff Lamb would have been the one to cause the bus crash. I base this off the fact that he was acting strange around the Mannings in that one episode where Veronica and Duncan investigated the abuse of a child Meg used to babysit. My theory is that Lamb was the one that got Meg pregnant, which makes sense due to his dirty little secret of getting cozy with teenage girls, and therefore, he wishes to eliminate Meg via the bus crash.

But neverthless, it was a very good finale, with plenty of questions still left floating around, and based off the loose threads, the Season 3 premiere should be a terrific episode.

*squints*:miffed: ...Jack Bauer will be pissing in Logan's skull after a simple burp blows his head off...

mmmm....i really hate this show, but i love the way thats its written. thats the only reason i catch this show, cuz of the people that write it. it reminds me little bit of 100 bullets. how nothing is forgotten.

if i had a choice i'd strangle that little mars girl, grrrr. she really pisses me off.
"look at me, my boyfreind got another girl pregnet and left me, and soo did my mother with her drinking problem. booo hooo. every guy i meet has a problem, and sleep with other people, booo hooo why am i only 5' 2 "

Very convincing, actually. I forget now... Did Lamb have a solid alibi for the hour of the bus crash?

I agree with you about the clever plotting but...

OUCH, dude! I find Veronica seriously attractive, as a character -- even more than the actress who plays her (Kirsten Bell). She's whip-smart, sarcastic, knows when to give people attitude -- all qualities that I find extremely hot in a girl. Yeah, she can be a little mopey and over-emotional at times, but I think she deals with it well enough.

In some ways, she's like a teenage version of Jessica Jones, circa Bendis' Alias. I assume that you don't find her attractive, either?

Oh well... Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

And for those of you who grew up watching the Police Academy movies -- did you start referring to Woody as "Mahomo" once he was exposed as a child molester?

it might just be the fact that she looks like shes 5' 2", theres just something about short chicks that turns me off, among other things. but after being shuned by her peers she acts like its all cool and she can make up with all of them....

that and the ending with the black chick was cool, the look on walaces face was priceless.
"i have a two year old kid...." the open mouthed look....
im waiting to see where that is headed.....

Percy Daggs III, who plays Wallace, can project so much emotion with his face. I swear, he'd be the perfect guy to cast as Alex Wilder, if they ever make a Runaways live action movie.

you got that right, but i swear that kids look like hes tripping on something,

Ok....so I was watching "Pootie Tang" (yeah...that's right....the hilarious movie) and I noticed the girl at the end was that of my current celebrity obsession---Kristen Bell.

So I decided to rent the Veronic Mars DVDs and see what's so special about the show. I'm only a couple discs into the first season---but I am genuinely entertained.

I'll probably catch the season 3 premiere this week and finish all the discs from 1 and 2 this week and be caught up by next week's episode.

I'm on disc 4 of Season 2 and saw Season 3 premiere last week.

I actually like this show. Very smartly written. I dig the "weekly crime to solve" aspect all while trying to solve the huge mystery that takes all season to solve.

The fact that I find Kristen Bell so hot that I'd have her baby doesn't hut either.

So yeah....I'm a fan of the show.

HOLY ****, that's an awesome arc-ender.

It was hella intense. Even moreso than the end of seasons 1 and 2.

I can't believe we're not even half-way into the season.

And the cliffhangers will have me speculating until the show comes back in January. I can already think of several possible suspects for the murder of Dean O'Dell.

I'm also extremely curious about what Logan's intentions are.

This show just keeps getting better with each episode!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who watches this. But we're probably the only 2 on the site who watch it so the discussion will be limited.

But yeah....with this season being like 2-3 episodes shorter than Seasons1/2....they sure as hell didn't pull any punches with the arc ending.

It's obvious that Logan heard about what Mercer tried to do to Veronica and got himself busted on purpose just to get thrown in jail to kick the piss outta them.

My money for Dean O'Dell's killer is on the Professor. A little too obvious I know---but he's the one who seems most likely to think he can get away with it. I'd like to say the wife---but that's just a little too obvious and simple. And of course there are other minor suspects like Professor's Student Aid....or any of the women affected by the campus rapes....or the one sorority mother who got fired for growing weed. But my money is on the Professor (which is still probably wrong).

The show is so smartly written that it's ALWAYS the least likely suspect. I mean remember when they revealed Beaver to be the killer and Veronica's REAL rapist? Where the **** did that come from? So yeah....by the logic of least likely----for all I know it could be Wallace.

Yeah, that much is obvious. But what I'm more curious about is the repercussions of that. They're gonna want revenge against both Logan AND Veronica now, and I have a strong feeling that it will be the basis of the third big mystery, which will be addressed in the final 4 episodes.

Based on the logic of "least likely suspect", I'm gonna pick Nancy Cooper, the "nice" one among the feminist group from Lilith House. Fern is too stereotypically angry to *actually* do it. Claire (the blonde who faked her rape) and Nish (the editor who got removed from her position, for covering it up) have the motive, but Nancy is friends with both of them.

for all I know it could be Wallace.
Racist

They were arrested for rape. What revenge is there? They're not getting out no time soon. But since the show has a way of bringing characters back for some crazy twist---it is likely that they'll be back.

What 3rd mystery? Or has that yet to be revealed?

Hmmm...since I haven't even seen Nancy since the pledge episode I'd totally forgotten about her. My money on any of the students would've been Claire. Nish was a possibility...but didn't seem like the type to take it that far.

I'm not that good with detective stories so that's why all the revelations of the show come as this huge shock to me.

Racist

Black people are alwys suspects. :p

It will probably be introduced around episode 15 or so.

From the Veronica Mars Wikipedia entry (which, I might add, does not properly cite its sources):
This season will feature three main story arcs, each resolved before the next is introduced, rather than a single season-long storyline. These arcs will each be run over several consecutive weeks without interruption; reruns will be shown only in between arcs. Most episodes will feature the usual "mystery of the week" as well.

Aso.....

Well at one point I though one of the big mysteries was gonna be what happened with Logan/Mercer cover-up. What happened that Logan was willing to cover for Mercer but won't reveal why? But then he answered it.

At one point when it was revealed that Mercer was the rapist---I thought "well that blows the Logan alibi"...but then it was revealed that Mercer had an accomplice. So that theory is blown.

Yeah, when that was first mentioned, I figured that it would be something a lot more sinister than what it actually was. But I was also fairly relieved that it turned out to be fairly ordinary collegiate hi-jinks (well, comparitively ordinary... for Hearst students, anyway).

That, and it led to some great character development for Logan, and addressed the issue of how two people so different in outlook and personality can keep up a sustained relationship, in a believable way.

Honestly, I wouldn't feel bad at all if series creator Rob Thomas decided to venture into writing comics, as long as he properly committed to it, and kept on schedule.

For one thing, I can imagine him writing a kick-*** Jessica Jones story. Like Alias Case Files, or something.

The character development on this show has been phenomenal! Well except for Veronica. But everyone else has grown into their own beings instead of just support.

Most definitely!!! I would add that to my pull list in an instant!

i didn't know this thread existed.

my girlfriend is a huge Gilmore Girls fan and the show is entertaining enough for me to watch with her. Veronica Mars comes on after, so we watched one or two episodes of the third season and liked it. i bought her the first season and we netflixed the 2nd. i really like this show. i wish i wasn't dvd waiting the third season so i could talk about it on this thread.

i like that nothing is left behind. it seems like a major plotline in the 5th or 6th season could be something that was very minor in the first season.

So they finally wrapped up the 2nd mystery and we now know who killed Dean O'Dell.

Wow.

Ourchair, tell Compound to hurry up and get his *** back on here for some discussion!

Although now that the 2nd mystery is over....I'm not sure how this will affect the pacing of the show now that they aren't doing a 3rd mystery. Instead they're just doing stand-alones. I don't know how I feel about that.
