GO HERE TO READ THE FIRST PAGE OF DOKTOR SLEEPLESS

Here's the Dish on the Series From Warren Himself:

DOKTOR SLEEPLESS is my new
longform science fiction comics
novel for grown-ups like what you
are.

It's being published by Avatar Press.

It will be monthly, and in full colour.

It will sell for US$3.99, like an IDW
book, because that's the cost of
doing business.

It will have backmatter. Massive
backmatter. DOKTOR SLEEPLESS
will be shadowed by a wiki at
www.doktorsleepless.com
and backmatter will move to and
from the wiki. Sometimes it'll be
seen in print before it goes on the
wiki, sometimes not.

Once the book's live, the wiki will
be opened up for readers to add to
it. You will see why.

DOKTOR SLEEPLESS will be launched
in July.

Stand by for further instruktions.

What questions should we, as Ultimate Central, send Warren Ellis?

He keeps talking about it in Bad Signal, and I still don't have a clue what it's about.

Hype doesn't work on me like it used to.

Amen to that!

Praise to Comrade Fantastika! Warren Ellis, self-proclaimed Internet Jesus!

I knew if anyone would get me it'd be you. I remember when I saw the first couple images in his Brainmail last week (or was it 2 weeks ago?).....and I knew right then that I HAD to read this book.

Captioning an image Tesla Boy Genius, and subtitling it Future Science Jesus sold me.

This is a good year to be one of Ellis' Acolytes.

Eh. I doubt I'll get this anytime soon. If its good I'll get trades.

He made a pointed note in one of the Bad Signals about how he needed extra support for the first 6 issues, and that this isn't Marvel or DC - meaning trades aren't automatic and are determined by the success of the floppies.

See? More reason to support your World Wide Web Savior.

Really. It's one of about 5 good comics out right now.
I dropped it so that compound could pick it up instead. I traded my issues to him in exchange for Scalped. So now he picks up newuniversal and I pick up Scalped. We can still read off each other.

The fundamental reason behind that is I've got too much Ellis in my pull and wanted variety.

Well, I get ALOT of comics as it is, and am sort of in the Ourchair position of having ALOT of Ellis in that collection. I'm sure I'll read it someday, but my one issue isn't going to change things.

I want more Desolation Jones...

Don't these things bother you?

Suicide is the third biggest killer of teenagers in the United States.
In 1999 more people in America died from suicide than from homicide.
Do you think about this?

As anyone who ever read MyDeathSpace.com for any period of time know, the leading cause of death in America is automobile accident. This is generally interpolated into a number placed under the heading "accidental death." When the operation of cars is the leading cause of loss of life I'm not entirely sure how it comes under the term "accidental death." It wasn't a ****ing accident, it was done by someone with a car. It's 2007 and we don't know how to operate cars without killing people. It's not a ****ing accident if it was caused by someone getting into a one-ton metal bullet that cannot be operated with complete control at all times.

In Europe in 2004, 13000 kids – persons under the age of fourteen -- died due to poor water. It's 2007 and the society does not yet understand how to operate water.

Are you thinking about this now?

People keep asking me what DOKTOR SLEEPLESS is about. This is what it's about.

Someone stole your future. Don't you ever wonder who?

...

Yeah Im just going to let him speak for himself.
