Guitar Hero 3

I have it for the PS3, greatest investment ever. I have all the versions and since my PS3 is backwards compatible I can play any of them when the mood strikes.

That's why I got it for XBox instead of Wii, so I could get Guitar Hero 2 (for Sweet Child O Mine). I didn't foresee myself getting a PS3...well, ever, really.

I finally started playing on Medium last night. I'm getting better, but it feels like learning the game all over again. I did manage to get 98% on My Name is Jonas today though. (Which I swear is easier on Medium than it is on Easy.) I couldn't make it through Knights of Cydonia though. And Number of the Beast kicked my ***.
I've never got 100%.

I was playing SLOW RIDE on easy, and it was so simple - and I missed one note out of boredom. Curses.

I think I should've tried it with a song I really like.
Really? I've gotten 100% on a ton of songs. Off of the top of my head, Slow Ride, Talk Dirty To Me, Sabotage, When You Were Young, Miss Murder, Paint It Black, Anarchy In the UK, My Name Is Jonas (That one was a *****), The Metal, Helicopter, Closer (A bonus track that I got 100% on the first time I played it), Impulse (Bonus song), and She Bangs the Drum ('Nother bonus track).
Yup. Also, my GH3 on Wii was 69.99!
Mine was free. :D

New guitars for Guitar Hero shown today at CES. They're actual sized guitars with neck straps and all, also including limited edition artwork.

Price- $399.99

cool , Pricey for essentially an extra pad that works for just one game (or series) but still cool

Yeah, whatever. Ignore what I say.

I responded see :D

My question for the Wii version is do they have skins or diffrent guitars to choose from? and how much is a separate guitar? not seen separate ones anywhere which is one of the reasons I've not bought it yet as I'm a sucker for multiplayer

Someone cares!

I think GH4 should come with a Flying V.

That would be bad to the ***.

Too expensive. When I got it I used a bunch of gift certificates I had received for Christmas so it cost me very little out of pocket.

Huh, for some reason I thought you had a PS3.

But, yeah, when I got mine, my PS2 had died, and they'd just dropped the price to $399, then offered 5 free movies and I thought "what the hell". I still think I shouldn't have gotten my 360, too much money for a pretty white paperweight.

I now have all 4 GH games (1-3 and Rock the 80's) on my PS2 (nearly impossible for me to find a PS3 copy up here for some reason), and i'm planning on picking up Rock Band on PS2 aswell so i can use my GH controller for second guitar.

I played Rock Band at a friends, it rocks, like hardcore, even the singing part was a blast (got a 100% on Suffragette City), and the Drums were fricking amazing, while the Guitar/Bass were nearly identical to GH, the extra buttons at the bass of the controller are genius. I can't wait to buy it so i can play through the rest of the game, it's got Gimme Shelter by the Stones, and lot's of other classic songs (HATE THE METAL IN GH3).

So, did I miss something?

I picked up Guitar Hero 3 for PS3.

I got Rock Band for Christmas and LOVED it-Ultimate Party game. The only downside? I need a bass player for my band to truly rock.

So I buy Guitar Hero 3 because I can't find any extra controllers and I like GH games, I would have probably bought this one anyway eventually.

I get a band together, we plug in...and the PS3 won't recognize the PS3 GH controller.

Um...are they not compatible with each other?

Did I miss something?

So, a quick google search reveals that Activision (makers of GH3) refuse to allow Harmonix to release a patch to make GH3 controllers work on Rock Band unless they pay Activision a boatload of money. Harmonix refuses to pay.

I am returning GH3 and waiting for the extra controllers to be released.

Activision just lost my $105.

Do you mean a flying V for Vendetta? A flying Hugo Weaving?

It would be cool but... surreal.

It'll happen eventually, along with Wii downloadable songs.

I'm just gonna get all the Guitar Hero stuff on the PS2 so I can play it by myself. And I'll probably end up picking up Rock Band at some point.

Still, I am wondering if eventually will be before or after you can buy extra Rock Band guitar controllers (for much less than GH3.) If before...I might go buy GH3 again. If after...I have GH 1, 2, and 80s to keep me company...many of the songs I love on GH3 show up on Rock Band...which is a more fun game anyway.

I kind of hate the guitar battle system in GH3. Why does it have to be about fighting? Why can't it just be about making sweet, sweet music together?

Rock Band is a game for lovers.

GH3 is a game for fighters.

Shaggymarco is a lover.

I'm not sure why you are pissed at Activision because you can't find another Rock Band guitar. Why *should* they allow someone to release unlicensed software that would take money away from them?

That's like getting pissed at Microsoft because Sony won't let them make the 360 controller PS3-compatible.

Anyone?

the problem is that the GH3 controller is compatible with all the other Rock Band versions except the PS3

Blocking the patch is bull****
