The Ultra-Mega Huge Tom Cruise Thread For The Ages, Part 1

Re: Tom Cruise banned by Germany

I'm currently in Berlin.

Deutsche is the only European language I know with (minimal) amounts of skill. I took it seven years ago, but had no one to practice it on so I am no longer able to hold any kind of conversation with it.

However, I know enough words to vaguely decipher things I see in print. I bring this up only because I wanted to point out that here in Germany, there's a lot of ribbing on Tom Cruise.

One newspaper columnist was genttly putting down an American columnist who made fun Germans speaking English with a German accent and suggested that Germans should make fun of Americans who speak German with an American accent.

He then says that the only exception to this is if the American in question is some short dude with a tall young brunette, to which the responsibility of the German is to tell him to "stop ****ting on our history" or something to that effect.

In any case, writers are liberally injecting small amounts of Tom Cruise jokes into their columns regardless of its relevance to what they are talking about, simply because it's topical humor now in Germany.

Oh, and there're also some articles about Scientology, but I still haven't deciphered them yet.

Re: Tom Cruise banned by Germany

I remember him saying that a lot of scientologists helped out, because of the nature of their religion. Or something.

The Nature of their Religion is to be crazy and give away their money to get alien souls out of their bodies with worthless little intstruments that don't do a damned thing.

Purgation is the biggest selling point of religion.

Re: Tom Cruise banned by Germany

Wow. Is this for real?

Yeah, it all true.

But the part I did see on this thread is that Germany agree to let Tom do the movie. But they changed their mind the next day. Poor little Tom!!!!

That is a extremely stupid thing to say. I had about 2 or 3 dozen friends who belong to christian churches go down there and help tear down and rebuild. Every single church in my area had clothing/food/money drives. Not to mention the countless people that took refugees into their homes or payed for hotels out of their pocket. Did you do anything besides type about how lousy people are on internet message boards?

I agree with Frappy...that's pretty bogus (and not even close to being true).

Re: Tom Cruise Kills Oprah

You mean he's Orson Scott Card?

I find it hard to dislike Tom Cruise while watching this.

Re: Celebrity Deaths (updated weekly)

I thought it was

People smart enough not to get roped into scam religions >>> Tom Cruise.

I'd count most major organized religions under that first group so that levels the playing field a bit.

The bottom line though, in all seriousness, is that from pretty much everything I've seen, Cruise is somebody who truly cares about people, appreciates the hell out of his fans and goes well out of his way to do them justice(unlike a depressing number of ******* celebs out there), is extremely talented in a handful of aspects of filmmaking(acting, producing, stunts to an insane degree, even conducting the freaking orchestra), and most of all is just somebody who absolutely loves and is fully committed to squeezing the last drop out of film, oppourtunity and life. More power to him.
