Green Lantern series discussion (Spoilers!)

I just finished "Revenge of the Green Lanterns" and loved it. It's not often that a book gets a "return from the dead" story right, but this one sure did.

I did not.

I didn't think everyone did. I was informing them.

So **** off four eyes, or I'm going to bring out the spatula.

They are the same "species" as the Oans. They left long ago and their appearance differs. Krona is also the same as them.

They once started their own corps before called the Darkstars.

So are the orange lantern corps actual people/aliens or constructs out of the ring?

Cause i like the idea of the orange lantern corps being one person cause they so greedy they do not share the power.

Its good that the series is carrying on things like the carry over of the blue ring into the orange corps arc, and making it more or a over arcing story rather than done in a couple issues and move on to the next threat

The way I saw it was that Larfleeze kills beings who try to take his power battery, and he absorbs them and makes them Orange Lantern Corps soldiers.

I ordered Green Lantern Corps: Recharge and the first three volumes of Green Lantern (No Fear, Revenge of the Green Lanterns, and Wanted: Hal Jordan) of Amazon and they just arrived today! looking forward to reading them!

okay so i finished up through 'Wanted Hal Jordan'

I thought Green Lantern Batman was cool until I saw Sinestro Batman! that was frikin' sweet!

and i'm a little bit confused about the Star Sapphire.

From what I can gather, Johns took an old GL villain and folded into his new emotional spectrum continuity, which is cool. But when they change the forehead gem into a ring, does it change what they are about? Are they still Black-widow lovers that want to infect planets and turn everything into crystal? Or are they now just basically purple lanterns (even though they are pink)?

and was the black widow, encase the whole world in crystal thing old continuity or was that Johns' addition?

I think since the rings are "manufactured" the star sapphire's normal tendencies don't seep through, so they're closer to Green Lanterns. Also, they're the violet light, personally I always thought violet was a mixture of red and purple (plus pink light doesn't have as good a ring to it...pun unintended). I'm not sure what they were like before Johns' run though.

Interesting note: Star Sapphire rings are the only ones that give the potential wearer a choice to accept or not.

Remember that this thread is still for GL/GLC discussion and the other is for Blackest Night discussion.

There was a giant Sinestro Corps snake circling Daxam in the latest issue of GLC. That is awesome.

I know right!? I hope Arkillo teams up with Sodam and Arissa to take on Mongul.

I liked all the Guardians going to the Vega system and all the stats about how many criminals have been in the system.

And then Larfleeze sees that Hal Jordan has a Blue Ring... "I want one."

Yeah. A raid on an entire solar system.

It's great that the Orange Lanterns absorb constructs.

Sweetness.

Was anyone else reminded of that scene from Aliens where the Space Marines unwittingly walk into the alien hive and they all start coming out of the walls?

Seriously, all these new Lanterns seem way too powerful. I just don't see how Green Lanterns can win.

And they will be a Dues Ex Machina, and that scares me.
