If Marvel decided to cancel all X-Men books and stop telling stories involving any X-Men characters, that would be dumb. Especially if their reason for doing so is to hurt Fox and regain the rights to the movies. At this point, Fox's X-Men movies are helping Marvel more than Marvel's X-Men comics and merchandise is helping Fox.

But if they actually pull a Crisis/Heroes Reborn reboot and make Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver inhumans… wow.

I'd like to just write it off as ridiculous just offhand, but I can't. They got rid of Nick Fury and replaced him with his black son, who is also named Nick Fury. They've been talking about using the inhumans as mutant replacements in the cinematic universe (I wouldn't be surprised if Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch end up being inhumans in the movies, even if the rest of this rumour is false). And probably the most compelling reason to not automatically disbelieve the rumour is because Axis is going to tie into a story about multiple timelines heavily involving the battle between mutants and humans. AND the main villain is Red Skull as Onslaught (who caused Heroes Reborn to happen).

Yeah, I can totally see this happening. The X-Men will come back of course, but I fully believe that Marvel would do this.

If for nothing else than to have a heavy MCU influence on the comics that, ironically, influenced the films. But as you said, I find it hard to believe Marvel would cancel all their X-Men books. Aren't they too popular? I could believe it about the cancellation of the Fantastic Four books since they're likely substantially less popular and lower sellers.

Exactly. I can totally see getting rid of the X-Men (though I cannot see them getting rid of the X-books completely) for a period of time before the next event brings them back. Remember, dead is dormant. Maybe the X-men get sent to another dimension or into the past or something stupid.

I still think that it's kind of silly to think this affects the movies in any way. It just doesn't seem to work that way. If they want to "replace" the X-Men with the Inhumans then they need to make a good Inhumans movie.

I really loathe this guy.

Rumor or not, someone is talking about comics and getting people talking about comics and people are excited to be talking about comics, and he goes off and starts talking like Mr. Internet Big Tough Guy about how small these people are, how they obviously crave attention because their life is so terrible, like he is too kewl to lower himself to even regard these people. I don't think I've ever seen Grant Morrison or Warren Ellis or any other of the truly great writers talk about people like that. And he does it all the time. He's a bully, plain and simple.

Then all his little sycophants trip over themselves to high five him and jerk him off. "Way to go Bendis! You sure showed that guy! You're so cool!"

And besides, he's lied about stuff before. A lot.

On the other hand, this could all be a marketing ploy by Marvel.

I loved it. Sam Humphries always rocks it with cosmic. It's also getting favorable reviews so I know I'm not the minority on this.

Has Sam Humphries written anything cosmic other than this? I didn't know if he did or not.

And the character written here isn't Star Lord, it's some bastardized version of Star Lord which upsets me. The Star Lord I liked is gone forever I believe.

And the dialogue was awful. The fact he blows up a Space Ship and holds his breath while his armor kicks in and only covers his face which allows him to survive in a vaccuum is the first of MANY atrocities committed within this book.

I meant to say sci-fi not cosmic although I guess they're pretty much the same. Our Love is Real took place in the future, Avenger A.I. ended up in space and the future and dealt with cyborgs, Higher Earth dealt with multiple universes and space, and John Carter: Gods of Mars was a John Carter story through and through.

It felt like the same Star-Lord from Bendis and DnA to me and the face mask is the same thing as his helmet, he just took the top off.

Not sure if you're reading the Bendis GotG but that has basically been the case since he started. Very disappointing.

I haven't read why DnA have done, so I can't compare not really get the comparison.
