DC Extended Universe / DC Universe - Timeline

I don't know if someone mentioned it but Gunn said that Peacemaker 1×07 is 100% purely canon.

No, I mean, you haven't done anything wrong. Gunn really is just pretty loose when it comes to talking about canon for S1 and The Suicide Squad.

Does anyone have a recap/list from the podcast of what Gunn says is canon and what isn't?

Remember this is the same guy that says canon is up to you. If you want to pretend Batman and Greedo.....
I think it would be fair to say he was talking about your individual personal canon there and official canon here.

Your personal canon can be whatever you want, but going down that road there's no real point to threads like this as it can be whatever.

I understand. For me, I don't count R rated parody style content (like Peacemaker). I prefer standard PG-13 superhero fare, not hard R rated vulgarity.

Gunn also said I Am Groot isn't canon, so whatever. It just annoys the crap out of me that he's like this. He sees canon differently, I think. Canon doesn't mean important to the story.
I know this is a big topic, but I just don't see James lasting in this role. I have a vote of no confidence in his leadership ability.

I'm counting them for myself because I know what he's like and I honestly don't trust his definition of canon. Marvel TV shows aren't canon, I Am Groot isn't canon, the canon MCU comics aren't canon, but a freaking unfinished deleted scene for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is canon. Yeah, right.

Exactly why I don't think he's the right person for the job.

I like James Gunn as a director, too. I think he's probably going to be great for the DCU... but people need to stop asking him about canon.

Time will tell, but every interview I watch he lacks confidence that a Kevin Feige or a George Lucas would have.
