Re: New Batman Animated Series to Air on Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network should bring back Megas XLR instead of waisting this time slot.

Re: New Batman Animated Series to Air on Cartoon Network

It has been well documented that Cartoon Network's animated series based off comic books have been complete ****.

Fantastic Four? ****.

Transformers? ****.

Now Batman? ****.

Dear Cartoon Network,

Stop it. Please.

I am totally fine with more episodes of Chowder. In fact, rather than bring this new Batman series to fruition....just bring back my IGPX.

Please.

Sincerely,
Doom

Transformers animated rocks thank you very much. And i'll wait till this comes out to give my judgement. But it sounds cool.

Re: New Batman Animated Series to Air on Cartoon Network

Nope, sorry. Doom's completely right on this one.

Nope, we haven't seen the show so it premature to say if it's good or not. And if ya ment the new transfomers toon then you are wrong, more wrong than Carlos Mencia getting a sitcom.

nope because like I said

me said:
1st) Transformers cartoons are not based on comic books.

2nd) Transformers animated while looking diffrent is actually pretty fun.

And Venom Melendez is right, the new transformers is pretty cool. I think people judge it to harsh because it looks different to what they expect in transformers.

Nope cuz it doesn't matter that it's not based on comic books. It's not what people expect per se, it's just that what it does look like is what turns people away. All of it was horrible.

Ah but it does when it was started with

See I agree that look will turn people away. However the stories are good enough to keep you watching. Some charracters have been improved e.g Prowl is awesome in it. Others have been kept true e.g Star scream.

Now if you do not like that is cool. I'm not trying to change your opinion on it. Just say that it is not complete crap or people wouldn't be liking it. Take Cyberton and Robots in disguise. The two worst Transformers series and you'll see most fans hate it.

However Transformers animated seems to divide fans as some really like some really hate it.

Re: New Batman Animated Series to Air on Cartoon Network

What about JLU? Was that such a dismal flop?

No, but it is a dying breed and a rare one at that.

JLU has been off the air for two years, what's really filled the void?

Really now western animation in general is in a slump, kids just aren't as interested as they were in the 80s, there very few western cartoons period, let alone ones of quality.

The only type of original animation doing well in the west, is prime time animated comedies.

Re: New Batman Animated Series to Air on Cartoon Network

You mean the new Tranformers Animated? If so two problems.

1st) Transformers cartoons are not based on comic books.

Nor are teh comics based on the cartoon. Independent adaptations of the toyline. A rarity.

Cartoon Network should bring back Megas XLR instead of waisting this time slot.

**** YES!

And while I'm not a fan of the silver age style appearance they've gone for here I see nothing wrong with a team-up style premise of the series. I'll watch it.

Re: New Batman Animated Series to Air on Cartoon Network

The concept alone means it's a bad, un-Batman-like show. Simple. It could have emmy-worthy scripts, it still wouldn't be appropriate for Batman.

Says you.

You havent seen the show yet. Call me back when you've actually seen it.

Sure it might suck but it also might be good.....we won't know till it comes out.

Only noticed this when Venom Melendez replied. So I'm replying.

What makes it "un-Batman-like"? the fact he's teaming with other heroes? If so then Justice League and World's finest must have been really horrible.

Re: New Batman Animated Series to Air on Cartoon Network

Because this looks like the Adam West Batman in cartoon form.

It's very unmodern Batman like. Very colorful.

Yeah but that could be very fun. The Adam west cartoon ones were fun. Hell I still watch Scooby doo meets Batman.

Didn't say you were, just clarifying for everyone else.

And Batman does have a long, LONG history of being the base pair in Team-Ups. Its very in line with both classic Batman stories and modern ones where he goes to specialists when he needs help. I love every issue with Jason Blood.

'Fun' doesn't equate to Batman-like.

High School Musical is 'fun'. That doesn't mean it resembles Batman.

I bet you an abandoned warehouse full of steaks that Jason Blood or any of the cooler, badass second-tier characters of the DCU don't make even one appearance in this sorry-lookin' toon.

I'm betting there's going to be a lot of the following:

- ****ing classic Aquaman (without the beard or the ******* claw)

- Jay 'I'm a Dork' Garrick

- Kyle 'Shoot me in the head' Rayner

- The 'Does anyone even know what my powers are?' Ray

- Booster 'Teh Futurz Rox!!!' Gold

I could go on...

no High School Musical sucks, Period.

But Fun can = batman. There have been some modern fun batman stories andd vintage one. Batman does not always have to be the dark brooding batman. In fact IMO The dark batman we have now days is Un-batman like.

Why? Original batman was fun. There was more focus on him been the world's greatest detective. Then they in invent him as a dark brooding vigilante and remove everything other than names and loose back stories e.g his parents.

To me that is outrageous. As much as I like Batman: Year One. I personally have always hated it equally for been the beginning of the downward spiral that pretty much killed EVERYTHING about the charracter in the first place.

Gone are the days of batman been seen as a genius detective. Now they try to hard to be "dark" and I stopped reading because of this. You can not do that. The change while respect people liking the new batman as it is their personal taste I do not.

So I welcome a more fun batman that actually looks like it could keep the spirit of the original. It is the batman I prefer and is the batman that I say is the TRUE batman.

Its ""un-Batman-like" in the modern sense, this looks like Silver Age Batman and I frankly I never liked Silver age DC. Silver age Marvel was fun, Silver age DC was just stupid.
