DC Extended Universe / DC Universe - Timeline

It definitely creates a ton of confusion since, apart from celestial beings, Barry is pretty much the only one to survive the Crisis. Even the Paragons would technically be in new Earth-Prime bodies, however that's supposed to work.
Like I said, in some years from now, we need a guidebook for this multiverse and the animated one too...

I assumed that you were waiting for confirmation on the reality number... everyone predicted that ages ago, to be fair.
You're fine.

But anyways, I doubt it's like...Earth-2 = Earth-X. Gunn even says in that interview and here is the numbers he gave don't matter, and "Earth-1" and "Earth-2" are just his simplified version.

I would say that the DCU isn't quite confirmed to be Earth-1 at the moment. It probably will in the future, but for now and the next few years, that's still the DCEU.
We've had like 3 iterations of this multiverse if that's the case.

1.) Pre-Crisis: Smallville S1-10 + S11 comics to Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths (around 4125 Earths + 8 "adjacent" Earths (Earth-1A, Earth-2A, Earth-19A, Earth-27A, Earth-32A, Earth-38A, Earth-XA and Earth-167A aka Smallville's "Earth-2".)
2.) Post-Crisis (a little over 100 Earths, the exact amount unknown but much less than before)
3.) Post-Flashpoint (100 Earths at most)

IMO The Earth-4125 Red Death thing I think is a remnant from pre-Crisis that she was always going to end on Earth-1/Prime and the timeline preserved that.

The animated side of things had 5502 Earths at one point since Batman The Brave and the Bold mentions an Earth-5501.

If I can just say, I personally feel like Birds of Prey, Peacemaker and Creature Commandos should have different colours to Suicide Squad and each other. Same with Black Adam and Shazam!, same with Superman and Supergirl. It's harder to distinguish the series as it is. That's just my opinion, I don't know if anyone even agrees with it though.

Eventually I run out of colors and it becomes a rainbow on the eyes.

Don't forget different universes have different numbering systems for other universes
Best real world analogy is in ancient history. Different countries or continents had unique names to explorers depending on where they originated from.

I think for story purposes the different numbers of Earths/Universes make sense for us as readers being used as an omniscient narrator device. But does not make sense in universe for the characters. Until we actually get to a huge multiverse style event. Which I hope is a ways off.

to make this even more complicated, in my headcanon to explain how gunn is considering the dcoamu movie elseworlds i have the multiverse as of now set up in 5 stages:

- pre-apocalypse war
- post-apocalypse war/pre-animated coie [tomorrowverse]
- post-animated coie/pre-arrowverse crisis (this is where i assume the post-crisis animated universe exists, as its the only animated universe relative to the pre-crisis arrowverse other than earth-f)
- post-arrowverse crisis/pre-flashpoint
- post-flashpoint aka "elseworlds"

i know this is all conjecture and mostly overly confusing, just wanted to throw in my 2 cents
