Ghostbusters - Timeline

Lol, Caddyshack sharing a universe with Ghostbusters (2016). That's an entertaining thought.
One that isn't likely, considering that in the same comic series, they mention visiting the actual reality of Caddyshack. Unless they visited the same universe but didn't realise it, checked out the history of Peter's double, and came across Carl Spackler (Caddyshack) instead of Martin Heiss (Ghostbusters: Answer The Call) by chance.

I thought doubles were only people with the same names

Doppelgänger. Peter Venkman would have two doppelgängers in Dimension 80-C if Caddyshack were the same universe as it, and the Dimension Prime Ghostbusters would have been unaware that they're interacting with characters from the same reality as that film.

I just got to this. Couldn't stop laughing, lol.

I guess Winston meant it when he said he's seen things that'll turn you white, huh? :p

Probably variants
Indeed. Well, Ghostbusters: The Video Game is confirmed to occur in that universe and does reference Freddy vs Ghostbusters, making it official, though that game also occurs in the main universe of the Sanctum of Slime reality, so Ed Spengler exists in all three - Dimension Prime, Dimension 50-S and Dimension 68-F.

But what makes them not in the same universe though?
Dimension Prime = Main universe
Dimension 68-F ≠ Dimension Prime

Therefore, since the fanfiction is not set in Dimension Prime, it's not the same universe. Even though The Video Game referenced them. It's no different to Sanctum of Slime being a sequel to Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Ghostbusters: Times Square! has no reason to not be canon to the main reality - the wiki just assumes it's not due to the lack of a connection and it's origins. It was supposed to be a prequel to the video game until references were cut, so October 1991. The manga could be canon too since it's set in the 1990s post-Ghostbusters II. We'll say before The Other Side.

Ghostbusters: Legion, unfortunately, is set in a world where Ghostbusters occurred in 2004. That would place it in a unique reality.

The X-Files: Conspiracy could be set in Dimension 50-S, since it's only a few years after Sanctum of Slime and the Ghostbusters barely aged in that reality, or as a continuation of Ghostbusters: Legion. In any case, I'd probably put it in a miscellaneous section on it's own as "X-Files Universe".

This game is said to be a sequel to the 1st film.

Where's Winston? :(

Funny that he haunts a golf course in Ghostbusters 101 #2 since he is shown to have placed golf in Scrooged and even had a golf ball come out of his skull.

I was 10 when Scrooged came out. My family did not see it until it was a 2nd run budget theater. But I wanted to see Cocoon : The Return instead. But my parents won of course. I probably did not know "the guy from Ghostbusters" was in it. But there he was with ghosts again. Plus like all versions of A Christmas Carol it's a time travel story. I loved it. I think it's the moment I became Bill Murray fan. Before that he was Peter Venkman. Took seeing him in other role to start to see him as an actor.

That's so cool! It also makes sense in the Ghostbusters universe, since A Christmas Carol is adapted in the animated series and comics. Scrooged is a modern retelling of A Christmas Carol with completely new characters, Answer The Call is a modern retelling of Ghostbusters with completely new characters, so the connection fits.
